ASE and multiplayer

Recommended Posts

Jim, or anyone else that can answer my question. I have ASE and a full registered version of FSUIPC. I noticed in the past you could not host an MP session and other people join because smoothing etc was handled through FSUIPC. However with the new ASE there is a note that MP issues should be solved by letting ASE handle the wind and visibility. In the notes it says to make sure ASE is running before you start your session and that those option be enabled. I did exactly this as a test run and had a friend try to connect. They could get into the lobby of the session but when they clicked to join the flight their sim gave an error with can not connect, and some sort of network error. From the best of our recollection this was the same error AV 6.5 and ASA gave us. Is there anything else I should do to allow me or him to host using ASE and still allow other people to join?We have figured out that if anyone starts ASE after everyone is connected it is fine, but if anyone else tries to join or someone leaves and comes back in it will not let them join the session. Any help would be greatly appreciated.FSX AccelerationASEFSUIPC RegisteredGEX Europe/USA_CandaUTX - EverythingFS Genesis - EverythingScenery Tech Landclass - EverythingWe tried this test flight in Pheonix Arizona with a mix of Eaglesoft Cessna Citation X 2.0 and Captain Sim 757. Like I said any help would be greatly appreciated.

The document about the multiplayer was a FAQ somewhere here on the forum, that I either can't find at the moment or it has been edited, deleted since I posted. The post said that with direct wind and visibility control enabled in FSE that the multiplayer issues should be resolved, but a lot of testing hasn't been done but initial responses seem positive etc. This is a huge issue for the group of people I fly with since we all fly together and online and nobody seems to be able to make a weather program that can work properly with the multiplayer.**Edit**Ok found it......

Q: Has the issue with multiplayer been fixed?A: UPDATED: New DWC/Global mode for FSX may have solved this problem, so when using this mode you should be allowed multiplayer connections. We have not extensively tested this, but initial reports are positive. Just make sure DWC is enabled and ASA started before starting your multiplayer session.
This is what lead me to believe that MP was fixed, or at least joinable. Just for the record the way we are running everything now it is not joinable by other people.

Hi,It is still the case that everyone must be connected first and then start a weather program. Dropped or new members cannot join the session.
