Removing default bridges

Recommended Posts

Hi all,FSX ( like Fs9 ) can put bridges over ater when there are roads.Near Schiphol I found 2 default bridges that cannot be exluded with eeither FSXkml, Instant scenery 2 or Exclude Builder FSX.I read about DefArea 2, but do not know if this can be made to work with FSX.All suggestions are appriciated.

Hi,With either a terrain or a XML exclude it should be possible to remove them. Which two bridges do you trouble with?

I have not tried removing bridges in FSX, but in FS2004 I use the SBuilder program. It has an exclude option (like ExcBuilder) which can be set to layer 7, which is the layer that contains bridges. If memory serves, the ExcBuilder utility can only go to layer 5 - which is not deep enough to get bridges. Here is a link to the SBuilder program - which works in FSX:http://www.ptsim.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=56Hope that helps.

Bridges in FS9 were essentially 2-point lines that displayed bridge objects. Exclude as David indicates for FS9 only.Bridges in FS X are vector-based extrusions. Exclude as Arno indicates with an XML file compiled with BGLComp. Code is something like the following:<ExclusionRectangle latitudeMinimum = "N47.0" latitudeMaximum = "N48.0" longitudeMinimum = "W123.0" longitudeMaximum = "W122.0" excludeExtrusionBridgeObjects = "TRUE"/> For FS X, any scenery design program that handles BGLComp code, such as SBuilderX or Airport Design Editor, will create the exclusion code automatically - user only needs to draw a rectangle around the object.Best regards.Luis

Attached a screenshot. The bridge can be seen connected to the the left road. The right one I placed but vanishes when reloading FSX.Only when reloading the scenry in FSX this bridge appears. If you go about 1 km to the left you will find a small default bridge too in the middle of the water and connected to nothing. That one too I cannot remove.Update : I tried the excl feature form AFX , but the bridges remain put....

I know nothing about AFX - but understand the exclude feature found in ADE9X (free) does work properly - as does the exclude feature of SBuilderX - referred to earlier.

I recently found this myself, you can give it a try:http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=FSX_KMLit uses Google Earth for scenery making and you can create exclusion polygons.
FSXkml I already mentioned at the start and it was not capable of removing them.
