Can I just add to my previous post.

 

It's clearly shown that @ 28.8 Avg FPS were clearly limited by a x8 PCIe 2.0 bus in FSXmark11. Should that not mean that @ doubble that FPS we'll clearly be limited by a x16 PCIe 2.0 bus or a x8 PCIe 3.0 bus?

 

The highest entries we have so far, are in that region. So would it not be a good idea to include the PCIe bus width/type you used when you report a result now?

This is probly my last Bench with my 2700K, first bench with KFA2 680 4gb

most do a test with the 680.

minmal higher clock , speed up the rams and tighten i little.

and for Stephen to have a liitle more work ^_^

Where there are benchmarks, there will be competition. That being said I'm looking forward to re-benching once I get my clocks all settled in after I finally install my full custom water cooling config (covering both CPU & GPU). Hope to have results later this week.

I have a new set of mems , when sleep a remember some tweaks

that not tested on the new set.

That did the 0.1 fps

Did som FSMark11 runs with my 3770K the same hardware as with my 2700k.

I reproduced HL James 4,9 GHZ run

 

The results was as exepted a 3770 is about 7% faster than 2700K not 20%.

 

I have a Corsair H100 "Fake Watercooling" that have little hard to handele the heat when

rasise the V-core voltage, but that have probaly even a Pro water sytem because of the low power consumption

and high thermal density .

To go 5.1+ with desent temps you need subzero cooling TEC or SS (single phase cooling)

Hasse, could you please rephrase the above? It's not the technical language I'm asking about, but the connection between the words is hard to follow for me, thanks.

 

I'm thinking of buying Corsair H100 for my newer i-7 3770k (btw why do you refer to it as "i-7 37700k"?) system. I've never had a watercooling system, but I've dealt with the top of the line air coolers, like Thermalright Silver Arrow etc. Do you think Corsair H100 is more efficient in terms of CPU cooling than an efficient air cooling like TR Silver Arrow?

I think the H100 is the best cooler "price performance easy to install"

What a mean with I7-3770K is with 1.4V thats difficult for the H100 to

handle the Heat , @4.8 it works great and on 2700K up @5.3

If its better than Good Air coolers? can be but not much.

Thanks Yves. This is a clear test many are asking about how many performance one loses when going from one to 3 screens. Basically 25% performance is lost.

 

I wonder what might be the performance loss in just clone configuration?

 

1) DVI output to 1 monitor (with FSX)

2) HDMI clone (of the main DVI) to the capturing hardware.

I saw none. Had a clone config running back when I was testing different monitors before I got the Catleap, didn't notice any drops.

Thanks, for reproducing the Ivy results. We don't have that many yet and the interesting bit is how much faster IvyBridge is clock for clock Vs SandyBridge in FSX.

Thanks for the straight 2700 - 3770 compare! Many of us building just now are very interested.

 

Costas, I think you should consider adding Westman's 3770 run to the spread sheet - even though it is a duplicate. I know it gave me a good feeling to see more than one gen 3 working well for FSX.
