Hi folks, just wondering if there was any conclusive solution to the s-turn issues with PMDG aircraft? I've had a search through the forum but there's so many posts with little suggestions that may or may not work, that it's hard to find what is relevant.Having just moved to FSX from FS9, I'm experiencing this issue for the first time. I was unable to complete a flight today with ASE turned on as the 744's reaction to the issue was so violent that the autopilot lost complete control of direction. I tried having a play around in FSUIPC to disable cloud turbulence ect, but nothing seemed to help.

Hi,PMDG Aircraft and Potential Turbulence Sensitivity ProblemsWhen using PMDG 747, MD-11 or other high-sensitivity aircraft, turbulence effects can result in stability problems and potential s-turn autopilot hunting. Both FSUIPC turbulence effects (enabled when FSUIPC wind smoothing is enabled) and FSX internal turbulence effects (used by ASE and FSX itself) can cause these problems. In order to minimize these harmful effects, it is recommended to minimize/disable turbulence effects in both FSUIPC (if in use) and FSX. FSUIPC (if installed and FSUIPC wind smoothing/turbulence effects are enabled) - Edit These FSUIPC.ini settings:TurbulenceRate=0.5,2.5TurbulenceDivisor=40,40,80,80FSX - Edit the following FSX.cfg setting (under [Weather]):TurbulenceScale=0.500000 FSX – Using FSX options, disable all turbulence effects on the aircraft (you may omit this step if you’d like some turbulence effects despite further sensitivity issues).Note:These stability issues can also occur without the use of ASE, however they can become more apparent using ASE's DWC modes and associated correction of wind parameters.Note: Minimizing/disabling turbulence effects can also reduce wind shift issues within FSX itself, which may reduce the need to use ASE's DWC feature/depiction mode and the need to use Global Weather Mode (with the potential negative side effect of improperly depicted wind directions and speeds). Recommend configurations:Using PMDG MD-11, 747 or other high-sensitivity aircraft - For maximum wind aloft realism and smoothing with reduced turbulence effects:-Follow the above configuration steps to minimize turbulence effects in FSX-If FSUIPC is installed, disable FSUIPC wind smoothing / turbulence effects-Use DWC (Direct Weather/Wind Control) within ASE OptionsUsing other aircraft not subject to extreme turbulence sensitivity - For maximum wind aloft realism and smoothing with standard turbulence effects:-Leave FSUIPC/FSX turbulence settings at default-Use DWC (Direct Weather/Wind Control) within ASE Options
