Hydraulic System Issues Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Can someone tell me if this is user error: I have no problems at all with the system before departure - I'll service the system (via the CDU), >90% and 3,000psi - No indication of any issues. While airborne, I'll get an indication that something is wrong. The electric pump systems give me an overheat error and it registers as two failures. ( One for each system A & B ) At this point the quantity indicatied is approx 70% in the appropriate system.. I reset the failures via the CDU and everything goes back to normal.. for about ten minutues until it happens again... Is this a user issue or a 737NG quirk or something? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks! - Mat Young

I had same problem, I realized I saved a flight in FSX, so by chance I went in the Documents fold under FSX and deleted the three files that are used to save flight with the NGX and it cleared up the problem, no more overheat problem with electric pumps, so possibly if you saved any flights with the NGX, you might true my solution....

Yea, it's been mentioned that when the overheat is happening, it's in conjunction with a fuel temperature pegged high (when loading a saved flight). Just finished a 3.5 hour flight with the electric pumps overheated all the way (fuel was beyond 40C the entire time). After landing, I just loaded the short turnaround panel state and things cleared up...so I could carry on with the return trip without the bug. Hopefully, it'll be addressed.

Interesting.. thanks guys.

I kept thinking:

1.) 20% of your hydraulic fluid doesn't just vanish without a major leak.. at which point you have much bigger issues, however, I don't think that to be the case.

2.) My only other thought was perhaps this was a density issue and the quantity is affected by temperature? But I was pretty sure that wasn't the case either.
