It is Vaughan, it is smudges you would see after the crew have pigged out on KFC. You will also see cloud reflections as well. Very clever.

It depends on the angle of the light which falls into the cockpit. With TrackIR or EZDOK or however you can move your "head" in FSX. And when you look at different angles on that displays the fingerprints occur. However also the digits which show the HDG/SPD/ALT have reflections built in. Looks very nice and is a real eye catcher.

I would have rather had dynamic VC raindrops than this nice looking but not really necessary graphic feature. But PMDG decided against it.

Not having dynamic rain drops is a fsx limitation, not NGX. It is hard coded, and not a thing can be done to implement it.

Wasn't that a result of hitting the animations limit of FSX?

No it wasn't. That would have been possible in FS9, but for whatever reason, the FSX developers removed that feature. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I remember pre-release Ryan or Robert posting about having hit the animations limit in fsx.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but if memory serves I've seen rain drops in v/c in FSX, actually I think PMDG's J41 has this effect but don't remember for sure because I haven't been in that a/c for quite some time now.
