I always find it funny at how afraid English speakers can be of the Cyrillic labels on the panels. With the detailed English manual its not really a problem. Russian and any other language speakers are certainly not afraid or intimidated by the predominantly English labels in FS!http://static.avsim....ult/biggrin.pngI haven't seen a single Bulgarian or Russian speaker (or any non-English speaker in fact) who has complained that, with the new PMDG Boeing 737NG, everything in the cockpit is only in English.
Me too.  It took me about 30 mins to learn the Cyrillic alphabet.  And I'm British, so naturally incapable of speaking foreign languages.  Apart from Polish that is, but I live in Poland so I suppose that doesn't count ;-)

Ok, im impressed with the fsx model..Here are some shots :http://img526.images...12523222534.jpg<<MOD - removed some of the images in quoted text for faster post loading>>http://img607.images...12523713811.jpgAt the moment it loads cold n dark...and i havnt got a clue what to push or pull.I can seem to get power, but i dont know if its the APU or battery switch im movin(it's all in russian), and control E doesnt do it either, just spools the engines up...guess i need to find the fuel valves.Looking at the files it looks like there is a co-pilot that give you call out's in russian too. :) aswell as other custom sounds. In the 2D panel there are english tool tips if you hover the mouse over so that may help me.The exterior textures take a few seconds to load..no biggie, just they are 4096 resolution textures. For freeware,i give the VC 10/10..All the essential guages are crystal clear.Exterior model 9/10...and i havnt even started the engines yet, or flew it, and its still in beta..Very good indeed.
Just beautiful one of my favorite airliners :) Soon I will start flying that baby again, it's been ages ago I flew her in fs9 now that it is available to FSX it's time to bring this baby alive again:)))))/Rodd

This aircraft took me a long time to figure out from C&D to Shutdown.  It was so very rewarding once I completed my first flight, though!

After a lot of deliberation for years of flight simming on and off, I finally got around to learning how to fly the PT Tu-154M. I can understand those who have an apprehension about learning the cryllic alphabet just to fly this plane. Even as a multilingual, it can be quite an intimidating thing. But rest assured, if you find Russian language intimidating to learn, you can still fly the plane in FS. I watched one "Project Tupolev Tu-154M Quickstart"video on youtube and after I practiced the startup process a few times, I got the hang of what is what and carried on from there. It was an exhilarating experience to say the least, my only regret is I didn't learn to fly it sooner. For those who are yet on the fence because of the complexity of the aircraft, take this up as a challenge and see if you can master. It will take your flight simming experience to a whole new level, there is possibly no other aircraft for Flight Simulator that can quite match the experience of this masterpiece.

:Applause:That's the truth! On a separate note, if after reading the opening post in this thread anyone is inspired to fly their PT 154M in Alrosa colours, there's a very nice repaint available. Download details here: http://www.protu-154...p=191563#191563I could't resist and as soon as I had some free time I put my Tu-154M through her paces in the Alrosa livery. Sadly there is no scenery available for Izhma airfield, so I couldn't try to recreate the landing there. But there is nice freeware scenery for Ukhta Airport, which is where the Alrosa plane went after the successful take off from Izma following the incident.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImageI tried to make the conditions as difficult as possible to create a really challenging flight. I may have gone a little too far with limiting the visibility, setting crosswinds and heavy snowfall. When I tried to land back at Ukhta, and also when I was latter trying the Alrosa livery over St Petersburg and trying to land at Pulkovo under those conditions, at one point FS9 ATC told me that my request for landing was denied! They did let me land in the end, and it was a very nice challenge - crabbing to the runway and then managed to pull off a nice looking wing-low landing almost like the one in this photo:

Some screenshots of my approach and landing at Pulkovo (only posting links to them as its becoming too many images in this post):http://static.avsim....959_9_96523.jpghttp://static.avsim....59_9_180683.jpghttp://static.avsim....959_9_49960.jpgAs its snowing over Europe I felt like flying in a snowstorm and what plane better to do it in than the Tu-154, after all she's built for these conditions. The Alrosa livery is certainly very nice and suits the Tu-154 very well. I strongly recommend it, especially if you're going to fly in 'snowy' conditions!
