Visualfx.dll crash

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, out of the blue my FSX stoped working. I just installed 3 sceneries (But they weren´t activated till now) and one plane. The eventmanager tells me that visualfx.dll is the culprit here. I never had a problem like this. Does someone have an idea how to fix this?

Try this link - http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?239001-FSX-Fatal-error-visualfx.dll&p=1619081, especially the last post. If you just added an aircraft, this can happen. Best regards,Jim

Hey Jim, thanks for your tip. I´ve figured it out mysefle. It was non of the things mentioned there. Upon a scenery installation I accidentally shifted the hole FSX/Texture folder into the addons folder. don´t know why I did this, maybe I was just too tired to do it right. Seems to load a lot faster now.

Glad you were able to get it fixed. That's amazing you figured out you had accidently moved the FSX texture folder.Best regards,Jim

Well, I let FSX build a new cfg and while doing this, I got the message, that FSX tries to read the textures folder but it was missing. Checked the FSX folder and there was no textures folder. Luckily I knew where I put that folder. :Big Grin:Just comming back from a little flight with the DC-4 over PNW. I´m really happy it´s working again. My FSX is currently in developenet with not moch addons but I would have been a pain to install that all from scratch again. :(
