I flew Falcon 4 a long time ago, when I got a new computer with FSX Win7 64bit I was told it could not be flown on FSX. Is there an upgrade to FSX available? Jack

Hi Jack. Falcon 4 is its own simulator - it cannot be "upgraded" to FSX. That said, it will run just fine on your rig.

So you're saying that Falcon 4 and all of it's add-ons and mods should run fine in Win 7 64?

Was there anything special you had to do to Falcon to make it work in Win 7?I tried it before and it would start up and the UI was okay but the in flight graphics were all messed up.My Specs:Asus G73jhi7 Q720 quad core @ 1.6 ghz8 gb DDR3Radeon HD5870, 1 gb DDR5Win 7 64 bitTrackIR 5Logitech G940I will try it again. Maybe there is a setting in my Catalyst Control that can be adjusted to make it work. I have done that before with an nVidia card. I have always prefered ATI but on my last system I had an nVidia card and I definitely liked it's controls better.

Okay, I installed FreeFalcon 5.0 and it actualy looks pretty decent although I couldn't get any resolution higher than 1600 x 1200. The biggest problem I had was the controls. I would set up the button the way I want them and then save it, then I would go set uo all the control axis. Then when I went back to the buttons, they were all wrong. And if I did the axis first, when I went and did the buttons then the axis would be all wrong. I don't know what's going on there. So I will try Falcon AF of Open Falcon and see ifI can get one of those to work.

This is the best upgrade for for Falcon 4.0 that I have seen to date, and it makes Falcon 4.0 seem new.  Awesome flight model, fully functioning 3D virtual cockpit, very nice weather effect, and many more upgrades, for free.http://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/http://www.simhq.com...4/air_507a.html

I have to strongly second you there, Shane... I recently discovered BMS, and it blows any of the original Falcons away. BMS is flat-out amazing! Now if only someone could somehow convert that 700+ page manual into a 20-page booklet... lol

BMS looks very cool!  I was pretty excited when I saw this thread and found out that there is still work being done on the venerable Falcon 4.0.  I flew Falcon 4.0:AF for a few years, then switched to FSX as the Falcon was starting to look pretty dated.

I tried the BMS option and found out that Allied Force won't work.  I looked on the web and couldn't find the original version for less than US$50.  I don't really want to spend that much for something that I basically already have.

Does anyone know of a solution for getting the original Falcon.exe when FalconAF.exe has already been purchased?
