Changing Files Names ETC From AVSIM StaffOk sometimes is happening without any reason at all at the end is like we are not have a simple idea from we are uploading and doing. In the other hand, you people you are not even looking our previous uploads. Sometimes things have a continuation which is broken by you and our uploads description look like we are from outer space.I dont like for example when I am uploading a file with this description,XX AA (cc) XXXX v1and my next file descritpion is,DD CC (cc) DDDD v1and you are deleting without a reason the (cc) which is has a meaning!Or when the AVSIM staff put a text in the description which is included and not needed at front. That's a problem, please consider about it.Thanks

Christopher Barbas,First and foremost, thank you for contributing to this wonderful community. Without authors like yourself our library would be empty! Now, a few things --
Please understand that on average we get about 20-35 files stacked up at a time. In a perfect scenario we could easily spend three minutes reading/editing/checking a file before it's made live. 35x3= 105 minutes or 1 hr and 45 min. Sometimes we find ways to streamline the process. One thing I do is start making mental notes about authors I remember from the past. If I recognize their name, I trust they didn't upload pornography in their zip file; I trust they didn't upload bad pictures for the file listing; I trust they spelled things properly in the description; etc, etc. We are all volunteers, not making any money from the time we spend here. Sometimes we have to work smart to get things done in a reasonable amount of time. Imagine if we started looking up prior files for each and every file that came in? That figure would probably become 2 hrs 30 min easily. Do you get where I'm going with this?
you people you are not even looking our previous uploads
I'm not sure what you meant by this? Can you elaborate? Please note that we have a strict formatting procedure to maintain conformity with ALL files in the library. If we allowed authors to type whatever they want you'd get a scenario like this:I'm searching for a United Boeing 737-700 so I go to the search engine and type that in. I will find files matching that name. However, I won't find the files that are formatted like this:UAL B737UA B737 new colors rolls royce engine v1 UPDATE 1Etc.Therefore, we do the following to keep it orderly. Airline Name "Nickname/Special Livery Name" Manufacturer Aircraft Model (Serial Number)IE: United Airlines (New Colors) Boeing 737-700 (N233U)I hope this makes more sense to you as to why we do what we do.
Or when the AVSIM staff put a text in the description which is included and not needed at front.

When people upload with non-English characters in the description it comes out as gibberish, we do our best to correct these. Also keep in mind that lots of people upload with tons of grammar and spelling mistakes (there are many uploaders whose first language is not English) which we try to fix too. We also on occasion use HTML to introduce paragraphs in long segments of text to make them easier to read - otherwise by default all the text in the description field comes out in one big segment no matter how the uploaders have typed it in.We do not and can not change the filename of the file. The system only automatically adds the upload ID to the filename if a file with the exact same filename exists in the system (this eliminates a number of serious problems) and also when the files is moved from one category to another. What file are you unhappy with? - Feel free to send me its details and what you want the description to be.Also please keep in mind that we are ALL volunteers here doing everything for free in what little spare time we have available, because we want to help provide this service. You would be stunned at the attitudes and abuse we sometimes receive and have to deal with. We all try our best and take all requests from our members and contributors very seriously - but in the end we are volunteers (even though the service we provide is on par with many 'pay-only' services) and ask for your patience and understanding.EDIT:Whoops - Didn't know Chase was answering too !
