its just not something very common....In the Caribbean where I am from it can happen..in fact, if you have 250hrs out of flight school you can fly a Dash 8 or ATR and in maybe 2-3 yrs jump to the 737. In the US you are almost always in your 30/40s by the time you get to something as big as an MD-11.

Just had the privilege of seeing the real MD-11's in Frankfurt airport last week (as well as the A380).

It's a nice feeling seeing one, even if it is from the passenger window of another aircraft.

Theoretically you can start flying with 16, so that would make 10 years flight experience. :wink:

me too, plus all my flights landed on the new runway, which offers an even better view of town.
