Just download these 13 files and then extract them with 7zip. That's an open source archiver. You can get it here. http://www.7-zip.org/ No installation needed.

Other programs may be able to extract the files too. Just make sure to place them in the same folder before starting with the first file. That's the one called Belgium 2012.7z.001 whereas the others go up to Belgium 2012.7z.013.

Just run 7zip and navigate to your download folder (with the 13 Belgium archives) and click the first archive. Then click 'extract' and choose the folder you like to extract to. Then wait a few minutes for the process to finish.

Each part is 300mb in size, except for the last one. All 13 files sum up at 3.70gb. You don't need to sign up for downloading, just don't mind the ads and look for the download link.

The scenery installation should be pretty straightforward. Just move the folders to a place on your disk and add them to the FSX scenery library. For adding the contents of the Belgium Enhancement package, just follow the included readme file.

As a tip from another thread, make sure to have Brussels HD above Belgium 2012 Photo. When using NL2000 (freeware for the Netherlands), move Belgium below the Netherlands to avoid problems around Maastricht.

The links will stay alive as long as someone downloads them within 30 days. So spread the word. :Peace:

Yes, Gerard is a genius. I could not find any commercial vfr package for Belgium, and what do you know, there was the one by a very talented and generous person for free!

Thanks a lot for helping me. I've downloaded and installed it now without any probs. It looks brill!

Hi all,

first congrats for Gerard and the co-authors for this brilliant VFR scenery of Belgium.

Also thanks for the new download link!

It all works as like a charm!

Although I still struggle with some installation topics especially regarding the Belgium Enhanced package as described here;

The scenery installation should be pretty straightforward. Just move the folders to a place on your disk and add them to the FSX scenery library. For adding the contents of the Belgium Enhancement package, just follow the included readme file.

can someone help me to clarify where I have to place that specific texture file?

it says:

Autogen vegetation for Belgium photoscenery © Aimé Leclercq 2012

Place the texture folder next to the folder "scenery".

ea:

Belgium

--------scenery

--------texture <----------------

Version 20120519: Add EBCV surround

---------------------------------

Version: 20120514

Coverage zones at 05/13/2012

Surround: EBLG, EBTX, EBSP, EBFS, EBSH, EBSU, EBBE

and

Area between Liege and Francorchamps

so in which folder do I have to place this Enhanced texture folder, because I cannot see a Belgium upper folder in my addon scenery list... Still puzzled overhere

Anyhow, enjoying the great scenery even without the Enhanced file ^_^ !

kind regards

Hans

There should be some Belgium 2012 Photo folder with a scenery subfolder somewhere. Just place the textures folder from the enhancement package within the Belgium 2012 Photo folder, so that you receive a structure like this.

Belgium 2012 Photo

---scenery (subfolder of Belgium 2012 Photo)

---texture (subfolder of Belgium 2012 Photo)

If you already have that Belgium 2012 Photo folder active in your scenery library, you won't need to do anything, FSX will recognize the added texture stuff. If that folder is missing, you won't see any photo scenery and therefore have to add it.

Run a check at the mentioned locations. If you see autogen on the photo stuff, you're set.

For this belgium2012, what are the setting for fsearthtiles ???

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question.

The first file no matter which one you click, 2012.7z.013 or 01 is File Size: 198.35MB is that a valid exe file?

None of those files is an exe. They all form up a large archive, consisting of those 13 parts. When you open the first one with 7Zip and have the other 12 in the same folder, you can extract them to a folder of your choice.

Because of the size ( almost 4 gb ) it simply was to much for Avsim, so I uploaded it to WeTransfer.

Therefor the links are valid till 25th mai.

I also have the North-East of France but that is almost 5.3 Gb.

My homepage is not capable of that.

Looks very good indeed.

Just one question - do we need to be subjected to the details of your PC, which takes more space than your posting?

Yes, my question was quite .......incomplete hihi!

I ask your fsearthtiles setting (*.ini and main fset windows (snap mode, size of base area)), because your belgium2012 scenery is about 3.5 go in 1m/p only and because I tried to make some area of France(about the same total area size and also 1m/p) and my sceneries are so much bigger (10 or more GO !!)

anyway, what are the best setting to have the smallest bgl scenery as possible??

I'd love to see the French parts too. Perhaps Gerard can use the same file hoster as I did. 5.3gb shouldn't be a problem at that one.

Alain, now I understand the nature of your question. Thanks for clarifying. I wished I could help you with that one, but I think that's some stuff for the dev itself since I'm a total noob in that regime.

Either way, some parts of France would be very welcome. B)

Thx CoolP

Did the checks, and that seems all working, thx for reply!

However I don't see any vegetation or 3d objects outside the airport, especially around the "flat" Flemish airports such as EBAW ( i installed the free EBAW scenery from AVSIM), as you can see in the attached file;

on the contrary, if you look to the free NL2000 scenery, you have plenty of vegetation and 3D objects surrounding the airport;

There is however vegetation in Belgium scenery once I fly more to the south. As you can see here on the ground in EBSP

is there something I missed (or messed up) here? Or do we -here in Flandres- have to live with the flat land we own

Anyhow, thank in advance for your support! Much appreciated!

Hans

I think you are seeing the limitation on the autogen. Keep in mind that only the close airport surroundings received the autogen in Belgium 2012, while NL2000, with the large team working on it, has a full coverage.

Check the readme file of the autogen package to catch the airport ICAOs with the autogen. The rest will stay flat, therefore 'only' nice photo groundwork. That's by design.

Must say that they did an amazing job and the autogen at the places mentioned then adds the icing on the cake.
