Denali Base Camp Charter Problems

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a problem climbing up to 14000 ft.

I just can climb up to 10500 ft max, how to climb up to 14000 ft?

Thanks in advance.

If you use the 2D view, you can not activate the PITOT heat valve so your engine freezes up as you climb. Use the Virtual Cockpit to begin and use the letter A to scroll through the views until you get to the switches for the lights and pitot heat

Make sure you're trimmed and that you've leaned the mixture as you continue your climb. The a/c will climb slowly, +/- 300 FPM, so be patient. As the previous post mentions, watch CHT and apply carb heat if needed. Carb heat steals some power so anticipate a slower climb. Also make sure the cowl flaps are closed.

I enjoy this mission and I was surprised by the time it takes to reach altitude.

It is sometime since I flew this mission but, as I remember it, I  eventually made it by flying back down the valley and, like EasyXjer, circled over clear terrain until I had enough height. It takes time so you have to be patient.
