CTD after 500 flight hours help please.

Recommended Posts

So all has been running smooth for over 9 months and yesterday had my first CTD. I know i should be happy that it has taken this long. I had just updated 2 pcs of software, GSX and flightbeam KPHX. I loaded a flight on the NGX from KLAS to KPHX and 20 min in flight I had my first CTD. This is the error from that,

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3

Faulting module name: g3d.dll, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e180c

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x000b50df

Faulting process id: 0x1730

Faulting application start time: 0x01cd8ef3ed8c8e44

Faulting application path: E:\flight simulator x\fsx.exe

Faulting module path: E:\flight simulator x\g3d.dll

Report Id: e301fc4f-faed-11e1-9013-bcaec5cef677

Then next flight from MMMX to KSAT 35 min same thing and here is the file from that,

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3

Faulting module name: g3d.dll, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e180c

Faulting module path: E:\flight simulator x\g3d.dll

Report Id: e301fc4f-faed-11e1-9013-bcaec5cef677

So I then renamed FSX.CFG to FSXOLD.cfg and let windows rebuild which it did. Now I can get FSX to start but it crashes when it loads the scenery here is the error I got from that,

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e17d3

Faulting module name: g3d.dll, version: 10.0.61472.0, time stamp: 0x475e180c

Report Id: d9f9db39-fb60-11e1-ab03-bcaec5cef677

Any ideas what I can do? I would hate to have to re-install everything I have it will take days:(

Thanks for any help,

Tom Davis

The g3d.dll crash was fixed by installing the latest version of FSUIPC.dll. You can get that dll here - http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html. The developer discovered the fix for this crash and put it in the FSUIPC.dll. The dll is freeware and the issue will be fixed with the free version but many of us bought a registered version just because he found a solution for this crash.

Best regards,

Jim
