Running Radar Contact in Prepa3d

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am seriously considering buying Radar Contact and the registered version of FSUIPC. I only use Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d version 1.4, and was wondering if anyone can tell me if the latest version of Radar Contact works with it.

If so, do I need to use Flight Sim Estonia's FSX to P3D Migration Tool (which I have already)?

I no longer have FSX on my hard drive.

Many thanks in advance.

Tom.

Excellent, thanks.

Do I need to use the migration tool, or do I just install it as designed?

No, just install it as it stands, make sure the path to the flight plans is right and that you have Downson's FCUISIP (I always forget the right title for that!) installed.

That would be FSUIPC by Pete Dowson.

Revporl / Ray,

Thanks for the replies. Actually, before you replied, I tried to install it, but got a couple of errors relating to FSX files which couldn't be found. I uninstalled it and used the Estonia FSX to P3D Migration Tool, and everything installed fine (I think).

I also have the latest version of FSUIPC, and will buy the registered version sooner rather than later.

I'm just waiting for my Radar Contact registration key to arrive, then I can really try it out.

Can't wait.

You didn't mention your Win version but if you have Vista or 7 set up a shortcut to RC, right click on it, and under properties set it to run as admin to get through Win security issues if Prp3D is installed in a Program Files folder tree.

Also check out the pinned Error 75 and 713 topics.

If you used the automatic key via e-mail authenticator and all is well with the ISP for jdtlllc.com domain and the key generator server, you should have it in your e-mail by now. If you don't check your spam folders and also make sure jdtllc.com is allowed through all of your spam filters.

Be sure to at least browse the tutorials in the manual for additional operations information.

Current versions of makerwys.exe as well as FSUIPC should be installed as both have been significantly updated from the RC distribution versions and area Prep3D compatible. The following links have the full and interim updates:

Let us know how you get on. I have it working fine, but I had it already installed for FS9 and just changed the flt plan paths and installed (I'll get it right this time!) FSUIPC into P3D.

Thank you both. Everything is running fine. I have just flown a trial flight with Flight Sim Commander 9, REX Essential and Radar Contact running fine. The immersion is incredible, and the learning curve seemingly steep.

Ronzie,

I am running Win 7 64-bit. After some fun an games previously with FSC, I avoid the Program Files folder like the plague. Everything is up to date.

Again, thanks to all for the advice.

Now back to those manuals.

Regards,

Tom.
