Maybe there simply is no VC model? That's most likely the reason.

I know that the following will not answer your question to your satisfaction, but you could download one of these T7s, most of them have a VC.

aalawand,

Most likely you are not using a model that includes the VC. The newer Skyspirit models do not have VC versions, but the older ones do. They can be found here:

http://poskyarchive.com/

The ones that have "VC" in their names are the ones you want. Even though they were designed for FS9, they work in FSX as well.

From the given selection, I tried the BA 777-300 ER with the

NEW VC with FMC and Vnav/Lnav.

Absolutly great !

But to make the scratchpad of the FMC work there are two things to do:

1) add the following entry to the dll.Xml (in same folder as fsx.cfg)

<Launch.Addon>

<Name>jb777 fmc</Name>

<Disabled>False</Disabled>

<Path>Modules\jb777_fmc.dll</Path>

<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>

<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>

</Launch.Addon>

2) Copy the 2 modules jb777_fmc.dll, jb777loader.dll from the

aircraft's modules folder to the FSX/Modules folder

Good luck !

The panel used is the JB panel , the VC is the Basic Opensky VC adapted to the JB gauges.

All synoptic displays are there (Elec, Hyd, Fuel...)

Even the electronic checklist is there !

The FMS uses the basic FSX flight-plan but has all the functions Lnav/Vnav/Flch ...

and they work !

Not bad for freeware i think !

The picture shows a climb on Lnav/Vnav.

To get rid of the messages concerning the hydraulic system :

set "electric_pumps=1" in the hydraulic_system section of the aircraft.cfg

Tcas works also !

The original panel is in the Avsim library : jb777panel_rel_1_032.zip.

But the easiest way is still to download a plane from the Simviation search list above .

Those planes have everything installed ready for use.

You have just to do then the little adaptations given in this thread.

With the original panel there is a readme file where there are some other

modifications to do in the aircraft.cfg.

With those approaches are better (more nose-up) and autolandings (with

autoflare) work also very well !

Hello Guy

I am having difficulty understanding how to make the scratchpad work and need further assistance. Its the first part of your advice that I dont understand. Where do I make these changes and to which xml file? Can you explain it in greater detial where to locate the file to add these lines to it.

Many thanks

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

As I said before you will find all the explanations of the modifications to

do in the readme of the original pane ' jb777panel_rel_1_032.zip' by

Greg Wilson in the AVsim library.

To make it work perfectly there are some modifications to do in the aircraft.cfg .

The xml file to modify is named 'DLL.XML'. Most addons add automatically at

installation a section to this file. It is in the same folder as your fsx.cfg, that is:

c:\users\yourname\APPdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

Make a copy of it before modifying !

To modify it use 'Open With Notepad '.

Add the new section for the jb777 Fmc at the end between the last

</Launch.Addon> and

</SimBase.Document> which must remain the last instruction.

I have made a series of flights now: Vnav/Lnav/Flch function well.

Even autolandings work.

Compliments and thanks to Greg Wilson!

Guy, I downloaded the POSKY model complete with fmc already added and I can't get the scratchpad to work after following all your instructions.... Anything else I should be doing?

Hi,

No, there is nothing else.

If you follow exactly the instructions, it will work !

As explained above, to make the scatchpad work you must define the fmc in the  'dll.xml' file  and copy the 2 modules jb777_fmc.dll, jb777loader.dll from the  aircraft's modules folder to the FSX/Modules folder.

And  everything is explained also very well in the readme file of the original panel  'jb777panel_rel_1_032.zip'  by Greg Wilson which you can find in the Avsim library.

In this readme you will also find some modifications to do in the aircraft.cfg which will greatly improve the final approach attitude and autolandings .

Good luck !
