If you set these options in the NGX via the FMC then email PMDG the .ini file with the config options, they will add it to the livery options. Be sure to send verification along with the .ini file , such as the email Qantas sent you. The .ini files are located here: FSX\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\Aircraft

Good work getting that info from qantas.

I took some photos on the flightdeck of a QF NG a while back - will have to have a look again and see if it all matches up.

Some 800's have the old Honeywell MCP.

IIRC, it was the early VH-VX* (I think from VXA -> VXQ).

We also didn't have the AOA dial either.

Much of the equipment depends on when the aircraft was delivered. Callouts and such should be the same.

Thank you very much for the info! Really helps a lot.

Seems like I wasted my time watching many YouTube videos and looking at F/D photos when I could have just asked!

Yeah but Rich let's face it.....who would have thought that Qantas would of cooperated and would of been forthcoming with that info from a request?

I know I wouldn't have thought so!

Are people going to be trying their favorite airlines now? Would be interesting to see which ones are good sports.

I've provided the United/Continental info to PMDG but they have not updated the files yet.

  • ETOPS Cargo Fire System: Yes
  • Dual Battery package: No
  • ETOPS: Yes

Hi,

Thanks for the information.

One problem here for this Qantas config: ETOPS without Dual Battery package?

Why does PMDG need dual battery for ETOPS requirements?

Anyone know if that requirement is current? I've seen confliciting information posted by pilots on the web...

I suppose I'll just turn it on for now.

Here is the text file for anyone who doesn't want to put it in manually:

Fantastic! I had been guessing a fair bit of my setup by looking at cockpit photographs.

A person I know through work has a close friend that is a pilot at Qantas on 'heavies'. He said he believed the cost index was 40 on the 738. I know that has been stated before on here and I was told this just before Christmas. So it still may be correct.

Also from this source, Qantas' normal cost index for the 744 is 100-110 and the 'standard' assumed temperate derate takeoff for the 744 is 48%.

I was told by this person at work too that he asked a Virgin Australia Captain after landing recently, they fly cost index 1.

It seems strange though that Qantas would be on 40 while Virgin down at 1. i know Virgin started off as low cost but Qantas would be trying to keep fuel bills down as much as possible. I would think they would all be similar.
