NGX PFD Display Colours

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the colours on the PFD on the NGX? Since that option has been removed from the PMDG settings on the NGX I was wondering if there's an config file that could be modified?

I find the blue and brown colours a bit too bright so that's the reason I want to change them :)

Thanks in advance!

Not currently - they're set per Boeing's actual RGB values by the way. Keep in mind that virtually any photos you see are going to be uncalibrated and affected by the exposure settings of the camera. When we were on the photo survey I took a bunch of shots of the displays at different combinations of settings and it seriously alters how it looks vs. what the eye sees.

I can ask about making this sort of thing an option for SP2 though.

That'd be great to have in SP2 for sure! :)

Hi guys,

I did it a while ago but I can't seem to recall how, I have also googled to no avail.

I need the background color of the PFDs to be black, all black, and not like the default one that is somehow dark grey. I have a custom profile where I succeeded so it is possible, but I need it in to the cold and dark profile. I remember it was a RGB setting into the FMC but I can't find it anymore  :o

Thanks in advance

Maybe you are thinking of the MD-11 or 747-400.

The 777 has this, but the NGX doesn't.

For the NGX, just turn the brightness down.

Thanks guys, I didn't recall it !

Last question, how can I save these new brightness levels settings if I am obliged to run the main 737 battery to turn the FMC on to save the panel state ?  I mean, after loading the state it loads also the battery on state but I would like to save the panel state with a certain brightness but being it cold and dark. I can't save a panel state without the FMC on, it seems.

Is there a way to use the FMC without turning on the battery  ? Just to save the panel state without the battery on.

Thx
