Question about deleting scenery objects

Recommended Posts

This may be a simple question but as they say is better to ask then not ask at all  ;-) Here goes... I was fixing some airport sceneries that ive recently downloaded and found some airports had objects with missing textures example some of the FS9 Custom Objects had missing textures as well when i was editing the airports using Ez-scenery. if i were to search the library through the editor i would notice some (not all) objects had missing textures would it be safe to delete these objects directly from the scenery folders to prevent them from causing problems in the future?

Wouldn't it be better to install the missing textures so you can use the complete object library?

Missing textures are a sure sign of having duplicate object libraries.

Find the duplicates, delete all but one and verify that it has all of it's textures.

Joe

There is a utility that will quickly locate duplicate textures and will place them into a backup folder within the scenery itself. I've used it for several years without any problems. It's called Find Any Duplicate V 2.4 by Gerard Durand

Duplicate textures aren't the problem, duplicate library object .bgls are.

Duplicate textures do nothing but eat HDD space.
