CTD with SPAD driver

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I experience CTD events when using the Saitek switch panel together with the SPAD driver -  with some airplanes, mainly from Carenado, but also with others. The crash to desktop occurs after around 5-15 minutes of flying time. The trigger must be SPAD, since I do not see any CTD when I am not using the SPAD driver. I have a decent machine (i7, 4.2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia 680 card), no fancy FSX.config tuning, Autogen on normal, water 2x low, TML= 2048.

Any ideas for work-around to solve this?

Thanks, Thomas

Have you tried putting the USB into another USB port?  Perhaps the port is defective or needs a driver update.

Best regards,

Jim

It's easy to try.  Just unplug your USB device and plug it back into another empty USB port.  You can also look for updates to your USB ports/drivers.  I use a freeware program I found on the Internet called Driver Scanner.  It scans you system for outdated hardware drivers and then offers to download and update the drivers for you.  That's when it becomes payware but the registration is really not that expensive.  If you know Google, you can Google for the updated driver, download it and install it yourself.  Unfortunately many system drivers are not updated by Windows Update.
