MCP problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Yesterday, i made the first flight with DeskPilot and a friend. All works fine, but only one thing doesn't work correctly. It's the MCP.

Indeed, when I am the Captain, i can increase or decrease all (altitude, speed, course, vert speed, etc) and my FO see that. But, when my FO takes control of that and try to increase and decrease, he can, but i don't see anything...

Any idea?

Hello,

The default working Desk Pilot Shared cockpit mcp settings in 1.4.2 are the following:

Left Course(CRS) = Captain Only

Left Flight Director(FD) = Captain Only

Auto throttle(AT) = Captain Only

Speed button = Captain Only

VNAV = Captain Only

IAS/MACH = Default Captain, First officer must take control via the Desk Pilot addon menu.

Heading = Default First Officer, Captain must take control via the Desk Pilot addon menu.

Altitude = Default First Officer, Captain must take control via the Desk Pilot addon menu.

Vert speed did not make it into 1.4.2 so it's advised not to use it. You can if you are the pilot in command, its not synced though.

Right Course(CRS) = First Officer Only

Right Flight Director(FD) = First Officer Only

LNAV = First Officer Only

CMD-A, CMD-B = First Officer Only. CMD-B has been reported as not working, i have to test this myself and confirm.

AP Disengage Bar = First Officer Only

LVLCHG, HDG SEL,VOR LOC,ALT HLD will be added into 1.4.3.

APP will be tested and modified depending on bugs.

Hello,

Has your First officer added the following lines to his 737NGX_Options.ini file?

[sDK]

EnableDataBroadcast=1

Captain & Fo require data broadcasting to be enabled.

Can you both open the ServerSettings.ini & ClientSettings.ini files and see if they match the following:

ServerSettings.ini

[sharedCockpit]
CaptainControlAltitude = false
CaptainControlAutoThrottle = true
CaptainControlAutoPilot = false
CaptainControlLeftFD = true
CaptainControlRightFD = false
CaptainControlHeading = false
CaptainControlIAS = true
CaptainControlLeftCourse = true
CaptainControlOverheadLeftHalf = true
CaptainControlOverheadRightHalf = false

ClientSettings.ini

[sharedCockpit]
FirstOfficerControlAltitude = true
FirstOfficerControlAutoThrottle = false
FirstOfficerControlAutoPilot = true
FirstOfficerControlLeftFD = false
FirstOfficerControlRightFD = true
FirstOfficerControlHeading = true
FirstOfficerControlIAS = false
FirstOfficerControlLeftCourse = false
FirstOfficerControlRightCourse = true
FirstOfficerControlOverheadLeftHalf = false
FirstOfficerControlOverheadRightHalf = true

Hi,

we made another test this evening, and still the problem.

We have together the good Client and serversettings.ini

Look! He saw when i changed to 135 the speed and my course to 015. But i didn't see when he changed the altitude to 11000 and his course to 030... For me, his course just changed to 001.

Ok, can you try the DP FO Overrides menu and take control over the altitude? The captain should receive an in game notification if it succeeds.

May i ask how long you waited for the course,altitude to change? It sometimes can take up to 5-10 seconds for the flight sim to update.

I'm assuming both of you have added EnableDataBroadcast=1 to the 737NGX_Options.ini file on both pc's?

.

Here is some questions that i should have asked earlier.

1: Is your FO using a hardware device to change the crs,altitude? Like the Saitek multi panel for example?

2: Are you or the other user running windows 8?

3: Are you both running the same version of fsx? I recommend fsx + acceleration on both pc's.

4: Do you both have PMDG's SP1c ?

Hi,

to answer you:

- when he took the control of the altitude with DP menu, it changed anything (just receive notification but still same problem)

- we waited more than 10 minutes (all the flight)

- we have both add the line in the PMDG_option.ini

- my FO just use his mouse to change the altitude (we tried with keybord shortcuts too)

- personally i have Windows Vista (he has Windows 7)

- I have FSX+acceleration, he too

- I have the v1.00.3057 (SP1) RTM & SP1 Patch. Syncs with 600/700 (i have the -600 /-700 series too but not him). He has the SP1c.

See you.

My partner and I cannot make it work on v1.43. The cockpit has shadows appearing and disappearing.

Does this happen without running Desk Pilot?

Next time make your own topic..

No, it only starts as soon as Desk Pilot enables shared cockpit. Also, nothing is synced and we cannot see any changes the other is making. We have both edited edited the options file according to the instructions and are using Hamachi to connect .Also the parking brake symbol appears and disappears spontaneously.
