Got Traffic 360 Working In V2!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I don't know if this is of any interest to anybody but I have got Traffic 360 working on my V2 set up.

1/ Install the registry fix to point at V2 of P3D

2/ Install Traffic 360

3/ Locate 'TrafficAircraft.bgl' located in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LockheedMartin\Prepar3D v2\scenery\World\scenery' (or wherever you installed it)

4/ Rename this to something you will remember in case you need to revert.

5/ Locate 'AITraffic.bgl' in the same directory. (I'm not 100% about the name as I foolishly forgot to back it up! This is the bgl that contains all of the Traffic360 AI aircraft. You can view this by using the FSX Decompiler, also in this directory.

6/ Rename this to 'TrafficAircraft.bgl' after backing up a copy!!

7/ Locate 'JFTraffic' in the 'SimObjects' directory.

8/ Copy the contents into the 'Airplanes' folder (with the originals!!)

9/ I also copied an xml file that was in the AppData\Roaming\Prepar3D directory into the Prepar3D v2 directory in the same location. I don't know if this is necessary so you might want to try it without first.

I do not guarantee that this will work for everybody but it did for me so I thought that I'd share it. Please do not moan if it doesn't work for you.

After the changes I loaded a flight from Gatwick with 100% AI traffic and it all worked fine, with loads of AI traffic. The 'Follow Me' vans also worked but I have not tried 'Spotty' or 'ATC' yet.

Cheers,

Chris

I had Traffic 360 working the day after P3D2 release, despite some guy on here insisting it didn't work and demanding that Bob remove it from the list

I had some screenshots of Traffic 360 in P3D2, showing lots of AI airliners but haven't been able to post them yet as I'm ill in bed with a nasty dose of flu. :(

If one does not already have an installation of Traffic360 from FSX or P3D v1.4, can it still be installed in version 2?

Hi Chris,

maybe a stupid question, but what do you mean by "installing the registry fix to point at V2 of P3d"?

Many thanks in advance for your reply,

the newbie,

Hans

I believe he means using a tool such as the FSX Registry Utility (just search for it at your favorite internet search engine) that allows you to edit the Windows Registry easily, which "fools" the installation executable of programs that use that FSX Installation Registry Key to decide where to install itself.

Just follow the first step in this guide

http://airdailyx.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/a-guide-for-installing-orbx-scenery.html

You create a .REG file that creates a registry entry for P3DV1 that points to your P3Dv2 install.

So the T360 installer thinks it's installing into V1.

You could use regedit to do it directly, but the Airdailyx way might be safer. Either way set the registry key to YOUR P3D install.

Most internet registry tools are best avoided I think....

Do traffic 360 airlines fly from point to point or do they fly real world routes.

They fly direct tracks. It's UT2 that uses actual routes, although far from real. They are generic routes made from the FSX flight planner.

That is one way to do it.

The FSX Registry Utility that I was referring to, located below is perfectly safe and legit and actually makes is harder to screw up the registry.

I applied this and it works, but all my AI aircrafts are double !

They fly in formation.

Any idea ?

I'm thinking about purchasing Traffic 360.  Does anyone else recommend it?
