Ry Edge lights size

Recommended Posts

I recently saw a pic in the ASN thread with some realistic runway edge lights and approach lighting.  Is that a cfg edit I can do?  It seemed to be default airport lighting.

Mine looks really huge and unrealistic (even with this smaller image)

You can try tweaking these settings:

[GRAPHICS]

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.4
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.7
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.4
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.7

Those are the settings I settled on. Trial and error to get them just right. It unfortunately doesn't affect the apron lights.

Thanks Jordan, I'll give those a shot!

Hmmm.  Didn't seem to make a difference.  Verify they go under the graphics section in the fsx.cfg? EDIT:  Looks like they're supposed to go under the DISPLAY section.  But still, no difference.

For reference, here's the post I'm referring to:

That guy is a lot closer but I landed on my screen and the lights were still huge blobs.

And edit again...  apparently I just had to be more drastic with the values.  Here's some I found online that look a lot more realistic!

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=0.75
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.5
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.65
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=0.7

Sorry, it's supposed to be under [DISPLAY]....Wasn't helping someone else with another issue and didn't notice. Glad you got it sorted!
