Danny, I am communicating with Jim on the CTD Forum.

I do not have REX or use DX10, but I am having CTDs around the NY area,

From the Process Monitor I have now found the the files mentioned in this thread are in the FSX root folder, but these BMPs are not to be found:

C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer.BMP

C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator \Scenery\World\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer1.BMP

C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer2.BMP
C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer3.BMP
C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer4.BMP
C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Texture\OceanHeight20FieldLayer5.BMP
C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\TEXTURE.CAB

Will this directly cause the CTDs if they cannot be found? If yes, can you let me have copies?

Thanks

Sauviat

I can't help you with your CTDs but the Oceanheigt files are located in the Texture folder under your sim. Not the Scenery\World\Texture.     They should be in C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Texture

The FSX/Texture folder has the .DDS files, but not the .BMP files.

Jim tells me that my CTD around NY would not be affected by the Ocean files.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sure. I don't remember ever seeing a .bmp for those files. Their not in either of those directories on my sysem. May be a REX thing. Hope you get it fixed.

Hi Danny,

Do these files overwrite and replace the overly blue water textures that are in REX4 Texture direct? If so, I would not mind getting them if possible. At the moment that awful water is all that detract from the reality in my simulator.

If this is the case and you can send them to me also, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew.

Danny, thank you.

I do not have REX. However, I understand that Rex is a common name given to a dog!

Andrew, I don't know. I don't use REX. If you're on REX, I wouldn't overwrite anything until you talk to someone using REX.
