ERROR-Just Flight Rescue Pilot

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,I downloaded Just Flight's Rescue Pilot for FSX but when I select a mission I get a error message

"Aircraft Initialization Failure.

JFPerson RP."

I re-installed the mission pack,re-installed FSX but nothing's worked so far.

I saw a thread saying you must go to FSX/Settings/Scenery Library/Add Area and go to C:/Program files/Fsx/Just flight/Rescue Pilot/Scene/Scenery but according to fsx that folder is empty although there are files.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?I really want to fly these missions!

Thank you in advance.

That error sounds a lot as if the name of that aircraft as defined in its aircraft.cfg is not the same as the one the mission.FLT file refers to it, or that the mission pack installs its new "aircraft" (JFPerson RP sounds a lot more like a walking person than like an airplane) to a new directory within the FSX install directory, but does not declare this new folder in the FSX.cfg.

Btw, you should still be able to start the mission, you will jsut see the aircraft of your default flight instead of the JFPerson RP thingy.

In case you need to know the places of the files I mentioned:

The FSX.cfg is located at C:\Users\<Your Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX, that folder may be hidden.

The mission.FLT (the name may actually differ from mission to mission) files are located in your FSX install directory, in a subfolder called Missions and another subfolder, either the default ones or (more likely) in a subfolder called something like "Rescue Pilot".

The aircraft.cfg is located in the SimObjects/Aircraft subfolder of the aircraft in question.

All three files can be opened and edited with the any text editing software, but be sure to make backups before doing any changes.

Hi,thank you very much for your help so far.

I solved the "JFPerson" failure by adding the following line to the "Main" section of FSX.cfg:

SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\JFRescuePilot

Now there's another problem. When I start a mission there are no aircraft to choose from.No helicopters or planes are standing at the airfield and the Select Aircraft option menu is unavailable.Any ideas?

Thank you.

UPDATE:

I can choose the Jetranger with the Rescue livery from the Select Aircraft menu but when I take off, nothing happens,no radio communications or co pilot.

Glad to hear that you could solve the first issue, but of course it's at the same time sad to hear there's another one now.

I'm sorry, but I can't help you there, because I don't own that product. In case noone else can help you here, may I also suggest toreport your issues to the JustFlight support, I am sure they can help you out.

When you Exit the mission, do you find yourself in Free Flight? If there's missing scenery objects or an aircraft required by the mision that's missing from your FSX, then the mission won't load properly.

I am having the same problem with every mission, whenever I load it up it puts me in the default ultralight at a random airport. Any suggestions?

For example: When I go to the briefing for Mission 11 it says the following:

Aircraft Initialisation Failure

Learjet 45 RP

Have you (re-)moved your Simobjects/Airplanes folder, or the reference line in the FSX.cfg?

What aircraft does actually load when you neglect the warning message and start the mission anyway?
