Forecast Hours?

At the bottom of the Conditions-Tab page, there is a selection that can be made for "Forecast Hours" ranging from 0-24 hours.

 

Since METARS are updated at least every hour, I'm confused about the function of this option. 

 

Does anyone know the purpose of this? Thanks.

Hi,

 

ASN also parses the TAF string. When selecting the forecast hours, it gives a simplified decoded view of the forecast weather at the selected time/place. Useful when in real time mode and you have e.g. a 6 hour flight and you want to see the forecast weather at your destination, by the time you get there (something already done in the briefing page btw).

 I suspected it related to the TAF info but wasn't certain.   Thanks for clarifying that.
