My ASN weather radar gauge for FSX (&P3D?)

Recommended Posts

Dear Bryn,

I was wondering if you could create a model of your asn radar for Eaglesofts Citation X 2.0. I would be willing to compensate you via PayPal. The X (primes avionics suite) can display weather on the PFD by pressing the PFD WX button which changes the HSI into arc mode (so it would be a matter of just simply overlaying the returns on the inside of the arc). It can also be overlayed on the MFD by pressing the WX option in the menu system with one of the soft keys. The virtual cockpit has the controls for on/off/stby/test, tilt, gain etc, they are just not functional but would make great click spots. Even if you could only create the radar overlay for the PFD (which I'm assuming would be easier) that would be terrific. Please PM me.

Thanks for your work,

John.

I need to correct myself...the wx radar is displayed on the mfd by pressing the mfd wx button on the display controller, no soft keys or menus involved!

John

Dear Bryn,

I was wondering if you could create a model of your asn radar for Eaglesofts Citation X 2.0.

Bryn has ceased development of his radar, but recommends Roland Lfor's which already has an overlay for the Majestic Q400 MFD, so perhaps it's worth asking him? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/459050-another-radar-gauge-for-vc-window-usage/?p=3157396

Roland's radar has well and truly surpassed my one (it's nice work!), and I won't have any time to work on mine further. Thanks for all the support and encouragement along the way, and I'm glad to have contributed a bit to the community.

You can leave the question mark away in this post's title.  It works great in P3Dv3.

One more thing:

Lockheed Martin 'demands' that add-on AC are installed outside the core P3Dv3 directory. Some designers ignore that (a.o. Carenado), while others like RealAir obey that rule. Maybe the readme.txt should be updated for this. There must be a correct path to the gauge. I stored the CAB file on two locations to be sure. One in the panel.cfg directory and one in the gauges directory.
