GeForce 340.43 Beta driver - don't install!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

A word of warning, don't install the newly released GeForce 340.43 beta driver.

I was rewarded for my efforts with random blue terrain textures, everything is back to normal since rolling back to last driver 337.88.

This is the first time a Nvida driver update has caused me any issues.

If anyone is running the latest driver without terrain corruption then let me know.

Cheers,

Ross

To be honest I never install beta drivers because of this, and learnt the hard way, so now I stick to the actual release of the driver just to be sure.

Did you also delete the Nvidia folder in C:? As i beleive it is good practice whenever installing a new driver.

Also dont forget to uninstall msi before you uninstall the driver and install after the new driver is installed.

Thanks for the heads up - staying away from this one - 337.88 has been for me the best yet

Installed and no issues so far in both FSX and P3D. In fact, FSX runs super smooth with higher FPSs than with the previous driver. P3D is about the same as before.

I tried it and it was a hot mess.  Rolled back.

+1 thanks for the heads up.  Enjoying 337.88 and don't see a need to move away from it for a while.

Well, couldn't make this driver work with P3D v2.2. Tried different locations, NI with default profile etc.but nothing worked. Always many blue pieces among the landscape. Went back to 337.88 and everything is fine again. Wasn't so much a problem here.

Will report to the GeForce support.

Yep, same here... very pretty patterns  but useless as a simulator.

I will report the issue to nVidia.

I wonder if P3D will ever get proper support from nV?... specific optimisations can make such a difference to performance and stability.
