Video - upcoming Aerowinx 747-400 sim ( PSX )

Recommended Posts

Not recorded in the best conditions (video recording with high compression), but still a must see !

For those eventually not aware of it, PSX is the new version of the best ever B744 simulation for the PC -PS1.

Ps1's latest version was released around 1997, and we have waited all these years for it's successor. It was certainly worth the wait!

PSX will allow for perfect synchronization with fsx or x-plane to get external visuals should you not find it's built in basic scenery enough.

I really wonder...

Not the best conditions? Not as smooth as the real simulator?

Maybe those guys should make it there goal to program FS XI

The sim which reignited my love of the "Queen" and led to the PMDG 747-400X when I had trouble running it PS1.3 on Win7, cannot wait until PSX is released.

I'm glad Hardy is still around. PS1 taught me a lot of things I still use in complex FSX planes. I'd recommend this to folks serious about IFR 747 ops.

The video looks pretty good in 1080 HD.

Does anyone know the price of this 747 sim?

It was really awesome when I got PS1 all those years ago. With PMDG and others upping the bar on realism (and my own obligations) I'm not quite sure if I will cough up $467. Hardy does a really good job, maybe I'll consider it if I win some money!

Great news, Aerowinx PSX precision simulator 747-400 is released!!; that is, in the Netherlands it's already on stock at the aviation megastore.

Finally a decent simulator, have been waiting years for this!

Yes, for the type, there is simply NO alternative.

My only problm is the price, but if I sum up what I have spent in useless sims and addons all these years since PS1.3....

Hi all, anyone purchased this excellent software (praise is all I hear)?

I understand it comes with a working collins weather radar, and is compatible with P3D/FSX and XPlane10, as well as its own internal scenery generator.

P3D/FSX is linked via the 'VisualPSX' add-on. Anyone know if injected weather from external weather programs such as OPUS, ActiveSky, etc are also modeled onto the Aerowinx ND, or would that only be available for scenery generators such as x-plane?

Thank you, and edging towards buying this software soon.

Hi!

I am flying it, as a diversion from my main simming these days - DCS and IL2 BOS....

I also bought Mike Ray's excellent book on the 744.

I know I can install fsx or x-plane10 for out-of windshield views, but I don't really think I should bother with either, because the visuals included in PSX are more than sufficient to me...

As usual, the simulation is SIMPLY SUPERB!!!!!

Regarding weather, read this thread: http://aerowinx.com/forum/topic.php?id=1633

Aerowinx PSX includes a sophisticated weather model, with up to 7 synoptic weather zones plus a global "Globe" zone for weather outside of the 7 zones associated with the aircraft route, and it is self-contained in as far as everything you need to fly in an extremely realistic World Weather scenario goes. It can inject it's weather into fsx or x-plane ( don't know about p3d ).

PSX is the first flight simulator that includes (*) a simulation of the geopotential and associated non ISA pressure gradients, making the "from high to low" mnemonic valid for both the pressure and temperature!

( * ) HiFiTech is working on the inclusion of such a feature in their ASN weather injector for FSX and P3D.

Thank you JComm,

I am happy to hear the weather is superb in PSX, but I've invested a lot of money into P3D/FSX and its hard to just push aside :-(

Vatsim compatibility I hear is still only inclusive if you use P3D/FSX/X-plane as your scenery simulator.

Regards.

While PSX weather can be injected into FSX when using the VisualPSX interconnect program, I prefer to use ASN to supply the weather for the FSX side as it produces a much more detailed cloud environment.

Yes, at present, there is no standalone VATSIM client for PSX. Before that can happen, someone will have to write a PSX-specific client, which will have to be tested and approved by VATSIM before being allowed on the network.

But when using FSX for scenery, PSX on VATSIM works just fine with the TrafficPSX program (a companion to VisualPSX), using your favorite FSX client - either Squawkbox, FSINN or VPilot

Great to hear we can use an external weather program and this will be modeled appropriately on the ND when the weather radar is switched on.

Looking forward to testing it out in the next few days before I make my purchase :)
