New Installation Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've made an upgrade to my PC and reinstalled windows. This time changed to win8.1.

I'm using P3DV2.2 and i installed MCE latest version but as soon i start the sim i get an unexpected error. Of course if i remove the fsinsider.dll from dll.xml the sim starts normal.

I tried the previous version  also.

Thanks,

Menelaos

Are you using the MCE licensed package for Aerosoft A3X or is it the Ultimate Edition?

What version did you install?

Here are a few tips.

On Windows 8 (or 8.1) you are advised to install P3D or FSX outside the \Program Files...\ folder

Tell your nti-virus, anti-malware software not to monitor the "Prepar3D.exe" or "fsx.exe" process.

If Windows UAC is enabled, set "Prepar3D.exe" and/or "fsx.exe" to run as admin.

i installed the latest version available at your site

so i guess that is the ultimate one that i have a license.

Then i tried the previous one 2.5.94 but again the same problem.

UAC was off, P3D in dedicated drive, im using bitdefender free edition

Thanks

Should definitely run the latest (2.6.1.0) with P3D V2.2

Tell Bitdefender not to monitor "Prepar3D.exe" or whatever you have renamed it to.

Make sure fsInsider.dll in \Prepar3D V2\ folder is also 2.6.1.0 or higher

Installed latest version.

Removed every other entry from dll.xml

Removed every entry from exe.xml.

Again P3Dv2 crashes uppon loading.

Here is the log :

Application: Prepar3D.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: exception code c0000005, exception address E6BC767E

GO to \Prepar3D V2\ installation folder and open "fsInsider.ini" using Notepad.

Chnge "Debug=0" to "Debug=1" and save the file.

Run the sim, and immediately after the crash, send the generated "fsInsider.log" file found in same folder to support.

BitDefender has a history of interfering with the "Prepar3D.exe" and "fsx.exe" processes.

I assume you did exclude the exe from its scrutiny, and not just exclude the simulator folder for scanning.

I can't find an attachment button or something so here is the content of the fsinsider.log file.

Did you create new traffic in UT2 by any chance or some other AI traffic package?

At which point does it crash.

Is it when P3D is loading scenery or straight on startup?

Yes, I did use UT2 Powerpack to install new traffic few days ago.

I installed MCE after UT2.

At which point does it crash.

Is it when P3D is loading scenery or straight on startup?

I get the message CREATING SCENERY INDEXES and after that and before the sim starts to load texures etc. it crashes.

A user reported a similar thing via e-mail a while ago.

MCE works fine with default UT2 installation. And installation order doesn't matter.

Suggest you send your custom created traffic to support and we'll try to recreate the crash scenario.

For instance, with the other user, issue was with a particular AI custom aircraft.

Try removing any custom traffic folder for now.

Tried your suggestion but the crash remains.

If I re-install UT2 do you think that the problem will get solved ?

All I can say, MCE works fine with the standard UT2 installation. We have it, and mainly use it for stress testing.

Only issue that was once reported was in connection with a custom AI the user created. Even then we were able to solve the issue.

Get it going with UT2 and no traffic customization. Then if you experience a crash after creating additional custom traffic, send the additional folder you created and we'll see if we can re-creae the crash in the debugger.

You may also want to confirm there is no crash without UT2 installed at all, so we can be sure it's the same issue we are talking about.

Thanks

I assume after un-installing UT2 you have deleted "Prepar3D.cfg" and let the sim regenerate a default one.

Suggest you download this new fsInsider.dll file. Unzip and replace the dll.
