Q400 Pilot Edition Ver 1.010 Problems

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

I know everybody was just as excited as I was when we finally got the long awaited Dash 8 patch which includes P3DV2 compatibility! Lucky for me I was able to get the full install from FSPilotshop with the new version. After installing, right off the bat I am having issues...

First:       MJC84 System Panel icon leads to nowhere. I click the icon and windows cannot find it.

Second: The engine sounds are reversed. When I start the left engine, the sound is on the right. When starting the right engine, the sound is on the left. (headset is hooked up properly)

Third:     The views are messed up. When viewing from the outside, the view is locked in at "locked spot". When viewing from the tower, half of the scenery is missing. It doesn't matter what zoom it is either. Half of all scenery is missing.

If anybody else is having these issues please chime in! If not, maybe I did something wrong.. Idk..

Thank you in advance!

Side note: I was really surprised that the installer actually installed a DirectX update as well. I am very OCD when it comes to keeping things up to date. Anybody else get a DirectX update?

The first one, i dont know what you mean.

The second one, i do think that its working as it should. i will test to see.

I do have the third one. I also have scenery flickering (Mainly trees and part of the scenery) if im viewing the scenery from the vc. If im using the outside view i dont have any flickering.

hi, got the same problem: MJC84 System Panel cannot be found, the Control Panel cannot be startet (windows side-by-side error) and the bird remains dead and hovering without undercarriage.

Did you install the LM HOTfix (Flight Planner DLLs) from their forum as well as I did?

For the first problem, Majestic have changed the control panel, therefore, the installer removes the older version. In your install folder is where you will find the new control panel. It is just a matter of either, creating a new shortcut, or pointing your existing shortcut to the new installation.

Second: I haven't experienced this one, yet.

Third: My views are messed up as well. The only views I can access with the 'A' (shift A) key(s) are;  vc, 2d cockpit, and the external view. I have to use the top menu to access the other vc views.  ( This is in P3Dv2.2)

As for the view being in 'locked spot', this was done by Majestic purposely, as a result of the Q400 design. It is, and has always, been this way in FSX as well.

Thanks everybody for the input! Jazzfan I figured out what you were talking about with the control panel. I am guessing that it is now called the "system panel" which works just fine. Also, good to know Im not the only one that has problems with the views and missing scenery! Hopefully this is either fixed with V2.3 or a hot-fix from Majestic.

I'm guessing the views will be fixed by Majestic, as this problem never existed in P3Dv2.2 before the 1.010 update. Hopefully it's fixed soon, I'm suffering Q400 withdrawal symptoms.

i think that's normal. a lot of installers will say 'hey, make sure directx is installed' and then when it runs it is just going through and checking that all the files are up to date but not actually updating anything unless you actually have some outdated stuff

i can't comment on the other issues , left/right sound seems ok, i don't think i've ever used tower view and i'm just on fsx only for now

cheers

The link to the System Panel will not work as it does not apply to the PILOT Edition of the Q400.  If you are having problems with the Control Panel, then we need to have a closer look and see what's going on.
