Chris,

I presently own the Alps version 1.0, which I bought on the Flight Sim Store.  Exactly what steps to I have to go through the update to version 1.10?

ps:

Seems after installing Italy version 1.10, your install program made an erroneous entry in the scenery.cfg Italy Base area.  I fixed it as follows:

     [Area.182]
     Title=Night Environment Italy - Base
     //Local=aerosoft\Night Environment - Alps\Night Environment Alps - Base - FSX
     Local=aerosoft\Night Environment - Italy\Night Environment Italy - Base - FSX
     Active=TRUE
     Layer=181

This is something you may want to recheck in all of your version 1.1 coding?

Hi Jack, thanks for the heads up

the installer issue was reported to AS R&D and should be fixed by now

we struggled with this silly thing over the weekend on AS forums

you just need to remove the entries created by the installer

than remap the folders manually; and it all works!

as for the update; you can do one of two things

i believe you can download the new full installer

or run the update via AS manager

wait... I’m not sure how the update works via Flight Sim store

you may only have the option to download the full installer through them

im not sure if when you run it; it offers an update type installer or you may need to remove v1.0 first then reinstall with the latest v1.1

either way; it should be available to you as a v1.1 full installer form

Thank you Chris.  Sorry for the stupid question, but what are "AS Forums"?  By the way, I just bought Italy 1.1 this morning via Aerosoft, and had the previously mentioned issue...is the v1.1 really fixed now?

Thank you Flyer
the guys may be little behind fixing this
i need to ask to find out the current status

it’s a little installer glitch; that’s easily fixed as i mentioned above
if you still have the initial v1.1 installer; nothing to really be concerned about,
all NE files are good and in the right place

it’s a little inconvenience for the time being; i apologies for that

AS is shorts for AeroSoft

Chris,

Is v1.1 for FSX flyers different than v1.0 ?

I have 3 different scenery.cfg files so manually changing all of them will take some work.

Is v1.1 for FSX flyers different than v1.0 ?

Indeed, this is a very good question...are there and visual differences between the versions for FSX users?

Hi Gerard

yes, v1.1 is different than v1

cfg wise there is no difference to you; you’re still referencing the same directories

their content have changed; in all of them you’re getting new high performing models and textures,

our new double installer and support for both FSX and P3D

with Greece and Dubai you’re getting a whole new rendition to the region on top of the above

Hi PDX

as for visual difference for FSX users,

no difference in visuals; mainly improved performance and VAS usage (about 33% improvement)

customers been reporting flying their PMDG with level 3 now with no OOM or issues (with v1.1)

in P3D it’s a whole new ball game in performance increase compared to FSX!
