Your computer has run out of available memory (KJFK) Approach.

Recommended Posts

Hello out there simmers. So i went back to flight simulation, and i want to flight to USA. Im flied with the PMDG 777-200lr. It was a fictional route EKCH-KJFK. So i was still at the ocean, and i began to descent. Im owning both New York City X and New york Airports from Drzewiecki Design. I have no UTX or GEX installed for USA. I am begin to approach, im getting closer to the airport and city. In a second i get enough close, that fsx loads the scenery, the airpots and city begin to finish loading. And crash with error " Your computer has run out of available memory" ( i have 16 gb though) so that sounds strange.I have no other option, so i click ok and shut down the game. I don´t know why its happening. I have not so much installed for USA. Traffic is only set to 70% or something. Hope you can help me guys, this is only happening for this city and airport. Hope you can help me guys, i really want to see that extreme airport i paid for :)

One thing more, im also doing many flights to Dubai, i have Flytampa Dubai and gex installed there, and im landing even in 100% traffic sometimes, and i do not get this error, so its very strange for me.

List of my addons for that region:

Drzewiecki Design New York City X

Drzewiecki Design New York Airports.

PMDG 777 SP1b.

FSX sp2 + ac addon.

Game tweaked with Bojote´s Tweaking tool.

Latest FSUIPC installed.

uiautomationcore.dll installed.

REX 4 Direct.

FDC live cockpit.

My Traffic 2013.

AES.

GSX.

System spec:

CPU: Intel Core I7-2700k 3.5 Ghz.

GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon 7970 Ghz edition 3GB.

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance.

HDD: FSX installed on WD Black 4TB drive (1.83 TB free space left.) , fsx currently using with its addons 122 GB.

SSD: OS installed, 500 GB Samsung SSD.

Search the forum for OOM errors - this is common, and usually fixable by dialing down some settings.

Your 16 GB of RAM are not the culprit..

Bert is correct but to expedite your search, here's a link to a good article about OOM's - http://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a108/vas-management-stopping-out-of-memory-oom-errors . It also provides some solutions.

I would also suspect your the installation of the uiautomationcore.dll in your main fsx folder. Try removing it as it could be causing some conflicts.

Tweaks are bad and they are not a solution to perfect gaming as they have to be properly employed. Bojote's tweaks were good back before Sandy Bridge but not so good on Sandy Bridge and later chipsets (unless they are properly installed).

Check out the AVSIM CTD Guide located to the right of this forum under Hot Spots for further guidance. The AVSIM FSX Configuration guide is there too.

On Drezweicki support site, many have experienced crashes (including myself with New York City X). Even with the option that eliminates shorter buildings, there have been many crashes occurring. This is unfortunate because their other projects are very realistic and enjyable . Try eliminating NYC X and see if you get a crash.  Let us know.

Thanks guys. There is any other tweak tool that is good with Sandy bridge ?

But yes I will try to reduce some settings.

There is one ting i never could understand. Is that when fsx loads a high quality scenery, i always get much framerate drop, but why, because when i get that lower frame rate my cpu is only 40-60% utilized why is fsx not utilize it to stable 90% to get more performance for example ?

FSX does not load all CPU cores evenly, so 40-60% is indeed typical.

If you open Windows Task Manager, Performance tab, you'll see one CPU core at 100%.

There is not anyway to tweak fsx, so it uses all 8 threads? So i can get more fps?

Here's a link on the subject - http://fsxtimes.wordpress.com/2010/08/18/affinitymask/.

the simple answer is: No..  just a faster CPU..

Also it is not the amount of memory You have on your MB that matters. FSX has a VAS limit of 4 gb and will crash when You get above 3,9 Gb. DD Nyc X and DD Nyc airports enabled at the same will break the bank when You fly in with the PMDG 777. Also AI traffic will increase the VAS.

Try with no AI and disable the DD scenery not used. Only have the airport You are landing at enabled.

the city textures are so intense that most systems struggle especially in a high end jet like pmdg

Unfortunately as given above, it's all about compromise.  I have my LOD down at 3.5 and still get OOM's, the joys of a 32-bit sim.

Thanks you very much!

@Michael63 that does not give any sense to disable the city, why would dd relase both? They should be compitable together and work?

I am sure You can have both installed and fly around the City in a default Cessna without having an OOM. But flying into KLGA from FlyTampa KBOS in the NGX is a gamble.

Thanks guys. So i readed the manual for New york Airpots. And its says that i should disable all airpots except the airport i want to land on, in scenery library. So i reduced traffic from 70% to 21%. So i went to try the approach again. The scenery load up again, when i was near. And i got the crash again. I tried alt tab to return to the game. But all textures was just /%&¤%!!. And to the end i got runtime error :(

One thing more. For the multicore tweak, nothing changed. The AffinityMask=255 is on 255. And no change so far, i get about 20 fps when the scenery loaded up. And cpu was only 40-60% utilized.
