Wright Flyer Callsign

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I'm trying to find out if anyone knows where I might be able to find an EditVoicepack file for "Wright Flyer" for Wright Air Services.  I've seen posts that say this should be in the default list for both FS9 and FSX but I don't have it.  I have seen others that say they don't as well.  So, I'm looking for one that's already been done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.  I'm also looking for "MEDEVAC".

Thanks!

You will find WRIGHT FLYER at http://www.adventure-unlimited.org/files/evp/airlines/index.php .

MEDEVAC is a little more complicated - as I understand it, it is used after the flight number and is not the call sign itself. Flight Simulator/EditVoicePack cannot reproduce this for you.

I don't mind that the flight number is supposed to come first.  If anyone knows where the voice can be found that would be great.

I hate to jump in here, but I think the call sign for Wright Air Services is Wright-Air and parking code WRT. It is also available on Johns site per the link he provided. If I should happen to be incorrect please forgive me! And by all means let me know.

Regards,

The 'Medevac' is actually spoken at the beginning of the callsign. ie 'Medevac Delta 123' Therefore it can be easily recreated in editvoicepack for use in flightsim.

IIRC from my real-world flying experience, medevac aircraft use the callsign 'MEDEVAC' and then the tail number of the aircraft. For example, a medevac flight flown by N937DT would call as 'Medevac 937DT' (and 'Medevac 7DT for subsequent transmissions with the same controller).

As they say, never believe what you read on the Internet, but:

  1. Wright Air Service callsign: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_Air_Service
  2. WRT (note callsign "WRIGHT"): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_Airlines
  3. Only reference I have found on real-world use of "MEDEVAC": http://www.pprune.org/atc-issues/431075-can-you-change-your-callsign-medevac-what-does-mean.html

I wouldn't argue, but that is all I found to go on.

I'd personally would take this over whatever you find on pprune.

All that is great info, but, kind of getting off topic a bit.

Does anyone know if the EditVoicepack modification is available anywhere?

I've made others but I'm not sure about this one.  Beside, it seems to be somewhat popular and I'm guessing it already exists somewhere.  I'm just having difficulty locating it.
