APU to Pack Takeoff

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am following te APU to Pack takeoff setup from FCOM v1. But I can't enter APU in the select field.

I thought it was implemented.

Any ideas?

Answered.

The 777 wants you to start the APU first before giving you the option.

It is, but...

  1. [On the 200LR] You must enable the option in the PMDG SETUP menus. [Default option for 300ER]
  2. The APU must be running when you are attempting to select this option on the THR REF page.

I really gotta read the manuals.  Sounds like I'm missing out on some other features I never knew existed.

I have had to use this APU to PACK only once out of Dubai on a long flight with 30degC weather.

I use it often, not for the improved takeoff performance, but for the Texas heat and humidity. Keeps the pax from getting short tempered.

That's would imply you are doing packs-off takeoffs. Long flights?
