Sorry, not obvious to me.  What is the benefit of the DSR tweak?

Downsampling made easy. You no longer have to create custom resolutions that may or may not work, you just use DSR to gain resolutions to downsample from in-game.

Just like downsampling, this gives you the same effect with OGSSAA. SGSSAA remains superior.

Hi Where do you find the driver you are speaking of??? 344.24.  I have 344.11

Nelson

Ok found the driver but they are for a notebook and also refer to the 900 series cards. I am talking about a 700 series gtx 780 TI and some people are saying they are using these cards with DSR. I'm sorry I just don't believe it

If you live near micro center, they are in-stock.  They suck at updating their website.  FYI.

Wrong country, I'm afraid.   Right now on a 5 to 10 day wait.  Canada....the only thing we have in stock is beer and snow !

This is pretty easy stuff - did you follow the link I posted ? - yes the driver is for a laptop but you can use it on a desktop with modified inf file - get out of installer - cancel it - get this inf file here

1.)   http://www21.zippyshare.com/v/16682645/file.html

2.) Then download the driver 344.24

 http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=393608

3.) Execute the driver it will put it into a temp directory/folder usually a folder called nvidia on your c:drive - DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVER - you over write the inf in the extracted folder called : display driver with the new inf file - Unistall your old driver and use a cleaner - then reboot and load new 344.24 driver

4.) Load the new driver when it asks if you really want to do this say yes

Ahhh rough.  Beer makes the snow easier to tolerate. As well as the wait.  Or worse... Depending on your frame of mind.

I have thanks - not using it anymore - not needed in my case - one less thing to worry about also :)

Yeah I don't use it either. The new version must be to accommodate the DSR settings or maybe other Maxwell-related settings that are new.

I have installed the 344.24 with the modded .inf. The installation was ok and I was able to access the DSR and smoothness in the Nvidia control panel. I intially set 1.2 for DSR and the default 33% for smoothness. Made a quick test and I believe I have seen an improvement in texture sharpness (placebo effect ??) but no or very little improvement on smoothness.....stutters are still there. It might still be me doing something wrong with the settings. So the basic questions:

1. Do I have also to increase the monitor resolution from the P3D settings menu (I have a 23" monitor, native 1920 x 1080) in order for the DSR to become effective ?

2. What about the Nvidia Inspector settings ? After many years of FSX I am almost brand new to P3D and quite frankly I am still unsure wether Nvidia Inspectors settings can override P3D settings or not. However I still see that I need a bit of SSGS to reduce shimmering

3. What AA and AF needs to be input into P3D settings menu  ?

4. FPS locked or unlocked ?

5. Vsync ON or OFF ?

Thanks

Hi Richard, success finally with DSR. thank you and all those who offered suggestions. It is easy once you figure out what to do and getting over what if I screw something up feeling lol. I will try different settings and see what works for me and my system. I wonder why someone on these fourms discovered this and not LM. You have really got to wonder !!!! Any way it is smoother than I ever thought possible..

Thanks

Ok here's my results with P3D 2.4, DSR, and Shade...definitely a keeper on my setup.  Didn't notice any improvement in performance, no loss either.
