Problem with course selection

Recommended Posts

Hello!

This issue is happening to me lately. When I choose in the combo2 to use the DME1/2 function to choose the course of the vor instrument in any plane.. it starts to turn the numbers like crazy.. And it only stops until some time.. Meanwhile any other button in the combo doesn't make any change or function. Only when the crazy turning is stopped (maybe after 30minutes) I have again all the functions back.

I have linda 2.0

Hi Japo32

The problem you report is fixed in LINDA 2.5. Try the new download.

Hi Japo32

Which aircraft are you using? You need to load and save the Radio Blank preset to clear this issue for most aircraft or, if you are using PDMG 737NGX, then you need the 737 Default radio preset.

I am using the A2A piper cherokee. Don't know what you mean about hte radio Blank preset? Never hear about that before I think.

I changed to 2.5.0 and it works perfectly well with the course selector in the cherokee.. but maybe I am loosing some functions in new updates.

There was a technical/programming error in 2.5.0 in the way CRS/DME and the radios worked. This was corrected 2.5.7. You need to do a quick fix to correct the problem you are seeing.

To find the Radio Presets, simply go to the MCP Combo page and select the User/Radio sub-panel. At the top right you will see a Presets drop down menu. Select the radios blank preset and save.  Selecting DME1/2 will allow you to change the course.  If not, check that it works with the standard Microsoft C172.

That don't solve it. Selecting any of the presents in the radio, makes that any little change of dme1 panel, produces the continous turn of the course selection in the sim for some time (so it don't let me change anything more).

This also can be produced in the default cessna 172. If I put 2.5 it works correctly... so I guess there is something in 2.57 that is making this mad.

Can you tell me if there is any file of the ones that I overwrite that manages the course? So I can put the 2.5... or is internal coded inside linda.exe?

Hi Japo32

Check that all elements of LINDA 2.5.7 are installed correctly. Especially COMMON.LUA dated 30 Dec 14. If problem persists PM me a copy of config-mcp2.lua.

Ok... will do that. I just saved a video to show the problem. Also sometimes in 2.5 (didn't test enough in 2.5.7) I have a problem of the combo2 stops and cannot recover in the middle of the flight. I think maybe is a problem with the com3 I have.... don't know.

Here is the video of the course problem

Ok.. seems the file is ok.. but I sent you both version of my linda configurations.

I sent you already one PM but I forgot the link.. I have to wait a little to let me AVsim to send another PM...

Really thank you for the great support!

Hi

Thank you for the video. I am aware of this problem which results from an essential fix to the radio DME code. Loading the Default Radios preset AND saving should have fixed it. You also need to click FSX Sync to outline the Aircraft box in Orange.

Please send me as a PM a copy of your config-mcp2.lua file from /fsx/modules/linda-cfg/aircrafts/c172/ folder.  Also send me the linda2.log file in the /fsx/modules/.  This will allow me to check that the last 2 blocks are as follows:

DME1 = {
["A  +"]       = empty  ,
["A ++"]       = empty  ,
["A  -"]       = empty  ,
["A --"]       = empty  ,
["PRESS"]      = empty  ,
}

FRE1 = {
["A  +"]       = Default_RADIOS_plus  ,
["A ++"]       = Default_RADIOS_plusfast  ,
["A  -"]       = Default_RADIOS_minus  ,
["A --"]       = Default_RADIOS_minusfast  ,
["PRESS"]      = Default_RADIOS_press  ,
}

Ok!! The sync button had the clue! I didn't do it. It was working but any change I made in the radios didn't fix anything. NOw it seems is ok!

Thanks a lot! Hope the hang on issue is over in this version!
