MD530 ... unable to start?

Thank you for the video ... much appreciated, no issues starting it ... my issue was actually solved by getting the correct installer (apparently a few bad versions were out there, finally sorted it out).

Rob, I installed the MD530 this AM and I noticed you inquired about using the add ons. Did you ever find out how??? Kind of corny putting a light or FLIR on your bird for aesthetic pleasure only..   :blink:

The light does.  The pontoons do as well.

Thanks for the reply... Love the squint reference... I've got the light working but can't seem to get it to move. Tried combos of Keyboard (num-lock on/off), P3D controls & FSUIPC, but no joy.. This is one really neat bird to fly, by the way...  B)

Hi Rob,

 

I was convinced of the quality of this addon by your video and bought this helicopter.

I wish I hadn't, I have spent all evening trying to get it started, like you did.

 

I'm running P3D v2.4 and used an installer that I was sent a link to called MV_MD530_P3D_v2.150210.zip

I've sent a mail to their support to ask to join the forum but haven't had a reply yet.

 

What did you do to get it working/started apart from request a new installer?

Every time I start it, the sounds carry on like it started but the engine dies and the rotors stop. If I try again, it never works, almost like the model cannot reset itself.

Love the attention to detail in this heli ... but I've gone thru the manual 5 times and following the "startup procedures" to the letter and I can get it to fire up.

 

Here is what I'm doing:

1.  Key On, Bat On, Fuel In

2.  White ring out, rotate throttle until white ring clips back in place

3.  Hit black starter button for about 15 seconds or until 58-60% N1 and release starter button

4.  Rotate throttle keeping TOT between the two red markers

 

Engine just never starts ... sounds like it wants to but doesn't.

 

P3D v2.4 ... any hints, as I've tried about 64 times without any success.

 

Also to be noted (Techmont variant) and it is set to "Read to Fly" state, NOT cold and dark.

The timing of everything is critical in this addon.  It has NO FADEC so that means you MUST hit all the temps just right or you will fail to start.
