New DC-10 (work in progress)

Recommended Posts

I see CLS are working on a new DC-10 model, it looks to be quite good, I hope it performs as it should.

The reason I am posting is that due to there not being a quality DC-10 for FSX/P3D I have become used to the glass cockpit of the MD-11 over the last few years.

It's a fine plane but my heart belongs with the DC-10, preferring the soulful wail of the CF6-50s to the mournful howl of the 11's CF6-80s.

So wouldn't it be fantastic if CLS did an MD-10 FedEx model.

All the best bits from both types, the chubby &@($* dragging stance of a heavy 10 and her rip roaring engines combined with the ease of one man desktop piloting in the glass cockpit.

Some of you simmers with a fondness for 3 holer types may recall the attempt to release a model by a company called XSimulate a few years ago, I hope CLS deliver the goods and it doesn't end up a failed project.

I hope you all had a merry Christmas, happy landings in the new year.

There is some news on their Facebook presence: https://www.facebook.com/commerciallevel

Not having a Facebook account I am able to read but the headlines ... however, with the entry there dating February 2015 I would call it good news

Best

Is the add to basket product the new one or the 2007 version?  Cant tell if its actually released. I just see beta previews from April.

Doesnt look too bad. I wonder how the systems depth is like given CLS history.

The soundset seems to be lacking, but it was a beta and a youtube video so who knows.

It's the 2007 version.  Also anxious for the A380.

So far I've taken two flights with this new version, one in P3D2.5 and another in FSX:SE. The P3D was KORD-KDTW and upon entering approach to 22R the dreaded VAS shortage alarm started. Ended up saving flight and restarting to complete. In FSXSE I attempted pattern work at KBDL and on downwind heard the same wonderful chime. So, seems like a big time VAS 'hog'. I like the new plane and cockpit , sounds, flight dynamics, etc but no other plane I fly sucks VAS like this one.

Anyone else?

Yea and it's a shame I cannot fly the thing without running out of VAS. At this point it's not usable to me. However I'll keep lowering display settings and see if I can find a way.

Same here. Impossible to finalize a flight without VAS in P3D2.5. Any possible solution?
