It runs - well - very smooth. So far I have only had one crash with the the converted FSX world

scenery data in Flight, and that was in Tokyo.

Same here, I had a little hop around the world. When I jumped to Tokyo it crashed out.

The Tokyo crash is annoying. I hope to grab some time this weekend and isolate the problem. I'm guessing it's one of the objects, but we also had crashes caused by poor airport coding in FSX, and that could also be an issue. It's just a matter of elimination, but time consuming to track down.

 

Once I find the BGL, then Steve can either omit it in a future version of the toolkit, or fix it if he thinks it's needed.

Oh, I already have a fix for it.  I just need to package up a new installer.  It was caused by the bridges that had some incorrect LODs in the FSX models (as hinted at by the content errors log).

Hi.  Today, I took another laptop I had, did a brand new install of FSX:SE, and converted it to Flight.  All went perfect.

 

Kavinda J.D, even though the batch file I used for the conversion specifies a log file (/l switch) no log file got created.  This is the same as my other PC, and why I haven't been able to upload it to you.

Bob, a log file is always created in %localappdata%\Flight Tools\Flight Toolkit.  The /l option just allows you to override the name\location.  Maybe that is broken but the other logging shouldn't be.

So, I decided to do my fifth reinstall today! Left the installed for a couple of hours to the root of my main drive.

 

Came back to test and the Bridge wasn't showing up on the map. I was disappointed, but I double checked:

 

 

I could finally see landmark models! All the bridges in the SF area have shown up. I just didn't think that admin privileges was the cause of this two week wrestle!

 

I'm glad I got this sorted out. Thanks especially to Bob for persevering and supporting throughout and as always, Steve for shedding some light onto this situation.

I don't get it.  What was the problem?  Were you using a restricted access folder for the conversion output?

I think I did. Initially, my output was my main admin directory which looked like - "C:\Users\<Admin>\FSX_Base." The folder icon has a padlock on it but I have "Full Access" to the folder. That doesn't make sense to me.
