New Tripacer from Bill's Custom Classics

Recommended Posts

Looks like a must-have. If this type of flying is your thing anyway.

Got it this AM. I've only had time for a quick spin but it appears to be another Bill Lyons classic... :) I hope Bill takes my 12 and a half US dollars and buys himself (and Lynn if she's so inclined) a quality ale. Judging by the kind of creative joy he invests in his add-ons, he'd probably be a great guy to sit down and have a brew with. :)

Also, don't overlook the great freeware Tri-Pacer by Brian Gladden (pa-22_tripacer.zip), available at avsim. Repaints are also posted, but the file name escapes me.Dan Baisley has created an authentic-looking retro panel (tripacer_retro_panel.zip) for Brian's bird. The file also contains a real gem -- a copy of the 1960 Pilot's Handbook.

"I'll bet case of beer that Bill Lyons model will leave it inthe dust."Dude, that is way uncool! While I have mine on order at the moment from Bill, I know Brian did a great job on his and spent a lot of time on it as a "gift" to the community.Ever heard that old saying "if you can't say anything nice, then do.......nevermind.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

I use Brian Gladden's tripacer and have his payware version from Abacus and think they are excellent.I am also ordering Bill's because I always enjoy his packages that he puts together with all the little extras on the plane, scenery and flights he includes. Bill is able to not just create great planes, but can create a whole experience for using that plane.

Very cool. The great thing about Bills work isnt the airplanes...its all the excellent stuff that goes with it. He creates an environment to put the period piece airplane in a time and place to make for immersion thats highly appreciated by his followers, of which I am one.Eric

Maybe I am wrong, just my opinion, but I will also stick with the point that I bet the Bill Lyons version tops any Tri-Pacer out there.

Bill Lyon's satisfies my expectations by providing a VC so good that a 2D panel is completely unnecessary.(not to take anything away from Brian's work - it's very good too. Just repsonding to Joe's transparent dig...) :)

Just got it about 30 mins ago, nice little plane.. worth the price :) Maybe the engine sounds could have been a bit more filling but I've never heard a real Pacer so I can't really compare.
