News from Alabeo?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if there is any new information about their upcoming aircraft.  The Incoming page still has a November status and the Facebook page has not been updated either.  Is Alabeo still with us?

Thanks.

Aztec PA-23F-250 was just released. Has Reality XP/F1 GTN750 plug in capability and a WX-11 Storm Scope included. Looks like the real deal. I got my MEL in this plane way back when.

I'm really  hoping someone is working on a sound pack for the Aztec.  Aztecs and Piper Braves have one of the most distinct sounds there is for airplanes.  Once you hear them , the sound will never leave your brain.  Alabeo tried to mimic the sound internally but the external sounds are not the real deal.

Having spent many hours flying the Aztec in the real world albeit many years ago, I agree the external sounds, although not bad, are not quite the real deal,  I was tempted to use the external sounds of the Flight 1 Islander, which are excellent and which are not too far removed from that of the Aztec, although still not quite the same, so hopefully someone will come up with a dedicated sound pack for this otherwise superb Alabeo product.

As I am an Alabeo forum, I wondered if Alabeo might consider applying their wonderful skills to develop the Helio Courier, a great taildragger with good STOL performance?

Bill,

You are in for a pleasant surprise. Aaron Swindle at Skysong Soundworks has tweaked his twin Comanche sound pack to ensure the Aztec's turbos get the proper delivery in FSX. I have tested this one both prior to the tweaking and after and it is an improvement over the stock Alabeo sounds. You can hear before you buy ($9) here.

Be sure to report back and let us know what you think.

Best Regards,

Ray

Thanks for that news Ray - I hadn't quite expected a sound pack to be available so soon! Listening to the link, I agree that is an improvement on the stock Alabeo sound and he has done a nice job incorporating the turbine whine. Will probably download and install that, as it is reasonably priced and, at the moment, it seems to be the closest match available.

Kind regards,

Bill
