FS2Crew 737NGX and FSX Steam Edition

Recommended Posts

Hi Bryan, it wouldn't be a lie if I said that I couldn't fly now, without my FS2Crew co-pilot beside me. So my question is, will I be able to use the standard 737NGX version once PMDG release the update or do I have to wait for the reboot (which I shall buy anyway)?

Hi Mike,

If you have a side-by-side install of Steam FSX, the standard NGX version "should" work if you manually migrate the panel.cfg, etc. but there will be no installer support.

However, a stand-alone install of Steam FSX "should" work with no issues with respect to installers, config mangers, because it's identical to FSX with respect to the registry info.

I put "should" in quotes because until PMDG releases the Steam version, I can't say with certainty.

Who knows what they have changed.

If they're changing the panel.cfg file and other internal stuff, then all bets are off and you'd probably be better off just waiting for Reboot.

Only the Reboot version will officially support Steam and P3D.
