After Start EGT

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

After starting engines on the 772LR, EGT rises to about 600 degrees and falls steadily and suddenly stops around 450 degrees. Did anybody notice that before?

It's more like a "jump" to 450 than "stop", right? NGX does it too. I think it's some kind of FSX limitation where the end of the engine start sequence/animation doesn't have a smooth transition to idling.

Hi

No its actually a sudden stop after a smooth quick decrease. No one seems to have noticed it since it is not in the known issues thread. I'm using P3D v2.5

There was a thread a while back about startup EGT.

The EGT drop you see is normal.

The real engines drop as well......this is exactly what you are looking for to considder the start succesfull and the engine "stabilised".

It is not the fact that it decreases that is the problem. It's that it decreases and SUDDENLY stops at a certain value around 450 degrees. Try to start it and have a look at the EGT next time, you will see what I mean.

I see what you mean. Mine rises to 565 degrees then falls steadily and stops suddenly at 453 then, after a second or so, it drifts down to 432 then back up to 457 and remains steady. One would expect the temperature to slow down as it approaches an equilibrium at 453 but it just stops dead.

Exactly.
