Kodiak start up speed

Recommended Posts

I posted this in the wrong place (Tips) and can't edit or delete so I'll post it here.

I just got the Quest Kodiak.  Great plane ,but I have the 'rocket' effect on startup with both the land and the water model . Parking brakes are on (except water); I have tried setting the prop to 0, fuel to 30%.  I tried setting the beta min to 0.5.  When I fire up the turbine, away she goes.  I have to hit F2 and the brakes to stop.   By then I'm either half way down the runway, crashed into a building or beached. Sometimes when I hit F2 it will flip backwards and crash.

Any other ideas to get this stallion calmed down?

I don't have any starting problems with any other turbine aircraft.

Thanks,

Alan

Yes it is an issue and not only with this plane. Make sure red lever is at cutoff, Power at idle. Start engine when it rpm reaches set point (cant remeber what) bring red lever to grnd idle. That is the only way for it to work.
