Yes OMNI - PSX IS my sim!  It's a study sim, and the most advanced I have ever used, after PS1...

I still use sometimes FSX:SE for the external PSX visuals, the A2A's the RealAir's amd the PMDG's, and the MJQ400 and Carenado B1900d  hehe...

Airlinetools have their own scenery system, so they're independent of other sims in that area. I would really like to have the same in PSX - a basic but plausible visual World.

I would be all over FlightDeck A32x but without PSX/XP10 and Vatsim/IVAO it is a nogo.

Using Jeehell's FMGS now, its actually quite fun trying to track all the bugs and learning the system at the same time :)

Its free, and very cool avionics software.

But, can we use it without a fancy cockpit - just over plain vanilla FSX:SE ?

Yes - however, except for the overhead, there are no 2D panels. You get every display as a separate window.

You can get a 2D panel look by overlaying the Wilco 2D panel below the panel windows.

If you decide to try it, display terrain on the ND. I had a small role in helping JL (original developer) get a more realistic "dot pattern" without a moire pattern. :-)

p.s. - PSX FTW!

Cheers,
