P3D 2.5 (FTX Global, REX soft clouds): My 1st NGX flight

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

Actually, as an owner of the PMDG NGX (6-900) for FSX, I didn´t want to buy it for P3D.

But the possibility to save $20 until March the 6th, let me pull the trigger! ;-)

And I am glad I did!

It looks so beautiful with all these shadows going on inside and out, and the smoothness is really a strong point in P3D, and the NGX is no exception!

So I took her on the maiden flight as SK163 from ESSA to ESGG:

Thanks guys!

To be honest, it hasn't been an easy decision, to spend another $70 for an addon that I already own. How big can the differences be, to justify the asking price (if you have the FSX version in your hangar), that's the question I asked myself.

And after the first flight, I must say that it's been a really good decision! P3D breathed new life into this addon, it really makes it shine! These wing views, with the changing shadows as you fly into and out of clouds, or as you make turns under the sun of the late afternoon... The light & shadows in the cockpit, that give you a complete new sense of depth. And all that happens with such a beautiful smoothness! One could argue, that these are all relatively minor differences, and only optical, with no added functionality. Well, one has to see it in person and in motion. The gain in immersion is really outstanding! I am sure, there'll be a lot more NGX flights to come! ;-)
