21 MAY 2015 - NGX REBOOT STATUS

Recommended Posts

Yes, but make sure you get a USB headset. I had a cheap terrible one for a while but worked fine. However, check reviews. Get ones that will fit conftably on your years. On ear are horrible for me so have over ear, however, the flipside is if they block out too much noise, you won't hear your PC speakers, so sounds like auto-pilot disconnect heh.

It's a mixture of sounds and voices. I think it tries to replicate what a pilot would actually hear

Could someone recommend a headset to use for this?  I have never used FS2Crew but will be getting the new NGX version.  I'm wondering if all sounds would then go through the headset or just the voices?  In other words, will the engine sounds, etc still come out of my PC speakers?  If that is the case, I'm not sure I would want a headset that muffles those sounds too much.  Thanks for any help!

I recommend a USB headset, generic will do.  Nothing fancy required unless you got money to burn.

Your engine sounds, etc., will still come out your speakers.

But if you enable the headset in FS2Crew, most of the FO sounds will come out your headset.

I use this headset and it works great, I originally used it for my PS3 but it works great with PC too (the mute button wont work on PC). Otherwise any generic USB works

I only have ATC & FS2Crew through the headset and have everything else through my PC speakers. You set it up in the sound settings which device to use.

I did "bite", but of course not standalone rather the 777 captain's set which is the same as this...

Now to save up for the reboot!
