Scotland 2: Going to the Beach - the Outer Hebrides

Recommended Posts

Will FSX-SE+DX10 suffice? And can I make the flights, load scenery etc in P3D?

I'm fairly certain it wont suffice. But don't hold me to it.

EDIT: Just did a little search and no, they are not compatible. Bugger eh?

How long does it take for 'smug' to wear off after buying an EV?

"It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled". Whoever said it wasn't wrong!

What a group flight! Following Josh in the Cherokee for the numbers at Colonsay (EGEY). Mike M to the right, then on the left (going back) Roger, Nick, Myself ("little guy"), Jock, Bert (TBM 850), Jeff. Way to the back is Michael J. in the DHC-3 Otter on the left, to the right, on the tarmac is Ron in the C182.

Following Nick just after take off. Lovely weather!

Hiding under Nick's tail (???). The prop blast and heat from the turbine is keeping the little wooden aeroplane dry.

At Tiree Airport (EGPU). From right to left - Bert, Mike M, Jeff, Nick, Michael J, & Josh. On the grass is Ron (182) and Jock.

Still at Tiree... OOPS! forgot to get Roger into the pic. He's in the Red Twin Otter just beyond Bert in the TBM 850.

Cute little Coll Airport (EGEL), the scenery is very nice here,,,, from what can be seen. Next time I have to disable that water spray effect during MP. What a PITA.

FS%20Screen%2005%2023%202015___144259z.j

Following Ron and Jeff leaving Coll. Nice landscape. Almost like "smell-o-vision" - can smell the green.... "Irish Spring" soap.

FS%20Screen%2005%2023%202015___144650z.j

10 of us heading to Barra (EGPR). Radio chatter was very light. We where all pondering how this was going to be done, and,,,, who's going first!

Jock at my eleven.. He might have the right idea using floats going to Barra. Who knows if the winds are pushing water inwards towards the mud flats, regardless of the tide chart.

FS%20Screen%2005%2023%202015___150157z.j

Either it was a nice welcome at Barra, or .... The people at Barra where listening to the radio chatter and said to themselves,,, "Shite! What the H__l is going on out there, let's go see!"

Josh planting it nicely at Barra.

"Smell-o-vision" again...It kinda stinks.

FS%20Screen%2005%2023%202015___151020z.j

We all thought that landing at Barra was the hard part... Departing there heading towards Benbecula (EGPL) looked like a mess. Over the radio - "Which way?" Ha!

3 Twin Otters, 6 engines and props keeping me toasty warm!

Departing Benbecula following Jeff and Nick.

Apron side of Stornoway Airport (EGPO) from left to right (not Citation) - Mike M, Bert, Nick & Roger. Further back in the King Air is Mike O. Mike O had quite a few connection dropouts, this is the only shot I got of him. Sorry. Welcome to the Saturday "meeting of the minds" session! Up at the top, above the blue hangar is a little glimpse of Ron coming in. It's not a star... Or is it? :-)

FS%20Screen%2005%2023%202015___160505z.j

Ron, just inches above the ground for an excellent landing.

FS%20Screen%2005%2023%202015___160549z.j

Ron Taxiing in - On the grass to my left is Nick & over yonder to the far right is Josh. Now that Ron is here we can start the "meeting of the minds" and cure the world's maladies.

Off topic... This shot was taken on Friday, May 22 by Astronaut Scott Kelly onboard the ISS. Friday's WX in Green Bay was a gorgeous, crystal clear day.

thanks for the flight yesterday fellas, 11 intrepid flyers started on the great haggis run  in testing conditions,

9 finished.  ( 1 got caught up in an unseen haggis net, 1 had too much of the scotch mist )

a most enjoyable flight plan. great scenery when I could see the ground.

roger.
