VAS Error

Recommended Posts

Approaching Rwy 09R at UK2000's EGLL, no ASN running, Aerosoft's Airbus Extended A321 got a VAS CTD with a MSVCR100.DLL. Has anyone any idea what is causing this?

Have managed longer flights that this before until I turned off Windows Updates(there is another thread elsewhere about a sneaky Microsoft Update), but I don't think turning off a Windows Automatic Update would lead to a DLL CTD. I may be wrong. Hopefully somebody can put me on the right track.

Thanks.

Not sure what a "vas ctd" is.  Thought that was only related to an OOM.  The MSVCR100.dll belongs to Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 which is used by Lockheed Martin to install P3D.  It is also used by some other addon developers like ASN and PMDG (some developers are starting to upgrade their installers and use Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 and it is possible Lockheed Martin did so with the latest release.  Hard to keep up on all of these fancy installers.  It certainly is strange that this 2010 dll would show up in your .wer report as the faulting module.  Perhaps it could be possible if you do not have Microsoft Visual 2005 and 2008 also installed on your computer.  I think the UK2000 EGLL uses MSV 2008 for installation.  The Aerosoft Airbus might also use 2008.  So, if you only have 2010 installed and it is well-known the Microsoft Visuals are not backward compatible, then maybe that is the cause.  Microsoft Visual's are used to installed a product in the manner in which the developer of the product intended.  Maybe too if you did not run P3D as an Administrator, this could have caused the problem as you may not have the right privileges for just one of your products.  Anti-virus programs can interfere with a program too but I'm sure you have that disabled for P3D.
